I should have added "within the state of Texas."
You want desperate? Yesterday Susan Estrich was urging the Kerry campaign to run ads attacking both Bush and Cheney as alcoholics and asking if we really want two drunks to have control over the bomb. Really.
That is exactly what I have been telling people -- during the late 70's any Republican in Texas had absolutely "zero" power to do anything.
Thanks Meek! Anyone who knows anything about Texas knows Barnes is a crook but to the MSM he is their new found hero -- speaks volumes about the MSM if you ask me!
I don't think it was in the 80s. It was just two or three years ago, after she supposedly became born again.
"I would like to say something, not just to Vietnam veterans in New England, but to men who were in Vietnam, who I hurt, or whose pain I caused to deepen because of things that I said or did," she began. [A]"I was trying to help end the killing and the war, but [B]there were times when I was thoughtless and careless about it and I'm . . . very sorry that I hurt them. And I want to apologize to them and their families."

I think that when a thread is pulled for being a duplicate, the posts should be combined instead of lost.
I had a poster complain to the moderator and get a thread pulled after I had asked permission of the original poster to repost the thread and had done the html myself. I was so annoyed.
Thank You Sir!!
But that doesn't mean for one instant.
...I'll stop kicking the sucker, either.
I am on a tear with the media lately. Their bias is very transparent to me. The Bush "bounce" after the RNC took them by surprise. Time to dust off the "Bush AWOL" story again just as always when Bush is running for office.
Yup, very true. For many years we joked that the Texas republican convention could be held in a phone booth...
The "funny" part of it is that Ben and the rest of the Sharpstown Bank pocket stuffers managed to accelerate the turn of Texas to republicans (it started with John Tower). My memory is that about 50% of the lege got voted out of office over the Sharpstown deal and all of them were dims.
The Kerry campaign has over 180 Americans who have raised over $50,000 during the presidential primary campaign. Supporters are listed below.

GOD!!!! I LOVE THE INTERNET!!!
Its like have instant answers...
Mara Liasson (who is not known for being a coservative) and the rest of the panel on Brit Hume's "Special Report" just said, a few minutes ago, this whole National Guard thing is 4 years too late. The Dims should have made it a bigger deal in 2000 and didn't. It's a dead issue.
Barnes has changed his story more time than John F'n Kerry has.
You're right, Bush's National Guard service is a dead issue for the Democrats, but the fact that Kerry is still talking about Vietnam keeps Kerry's service is the news and the fact that they are ressurecting this story through this disreputable partisan also shows what poor choices Kerry would make if he was elected. It does our side good to point up the background of this man as well as the fact that this is all that the Kerry campaign has to run on.
Interesting fact, I don't think that Barnes was in any position to do any string pulling from Switzerland.
