For starters, nimrod, if you'd have done a search, you would have seen the article was posted 18 hours before you started a duplicate thread. Watch and learn, newbie.

if you'd done a search . . .

My apologies, then. My word!

You post the DNC talking points on your first day on a conservative web site and now you want to chat? Are you liberals really this stupid or are you putting on a show?

Holy cow. What exactly is the procedure if you actually want to discuss an article? OK I'll discuss. What relevance does this have to do with today? President Bush has been in office almost 4 years, he should be judged positively or negatively on those years. You got to admit they tell you more about the man than an alleged event 30+ years ago.

You should stay with the thread you posted, and answer any questions. In other words debate!!
Welcome to FR. Don't be put off. There are lots of trolls coming out of the woodwork. Some here have itchy trigger fingers. :-)

Thank you, duyaismypresident, I happen to agree with you. I thought it raised an interesting point about whether it there is any moral contradiction between supporting a war and actively avoiding fighting in it. I wonder if willingness to physically participate in a war is some kind of prerequisite for supporting it. Do you see it as a contradiction?
(I'm half-afraid to hit post and see what else has been aimed my way!)

I think it was less than heroic, but not as bad as what some did to avoid the draft, and certainly not illegal.
