Militant groups fighting US-led troops in Iraq plan to unite under one umbrella and rein in sectarian attacks by loyalists of suspected Al Qaeda operative Abu Mussab al-Zarqawi, a Kuwaiti daily said Monday.

“Very soon, these groups will combine their efforts under a single jihad (holy war) banner, governed by a Shura (consultative) Council authorized” by religious scholars, the Al-Rai Al-Aam newspaper said citing sources “very close” to Iraqi “jihadi” groups.

“If Zarqawi does not abandon his plans to instigate a sectarian rift, the groups will force him to do so even if that requires taking up arms against him,” the paper quoted one of its sources as saying.

A document released by the US military and said to be authored by Zarqawi set out plans to spark civil war in Iraq by attacking Shiite targets.

On occasion our Security Department will receive security related information involving other statewide healthcare organizations. Today I would like to pass along information on two separate incidents that have occured in northern Illinois.

The Kendall County Sheriff's Department informed northern Illinois hospitals the following information. On Wednesday, Sept. 29th, at the Valley West Community Hospital Emergency Dept. in Sandwich, Illinois two Middle Eastern males arrived. One stated he was a Chief Medical Resident from a hospital in Cleveland. IVWC stated that this was highly unlikely. The two gentlemen began asking questions as to Valley West's bioterrorism plans, emergency exits, security programs, whether or not they had helipcopter capabilities, distance from major highways and interstates. When a nursing supervisor requested some type of official indentification, they hastily departed.

On Sunday, Sept. 26th, at Illinois Valley Community in Peru, Illinois, two middle eastern males were wandering around the hospital. When questioned by a staff member, they stated that they were going to take their father on an outing and needed a wheelchair. The staff indicated that they did not sell wheelchairs there. They left and then came in another door. They were again stopped by another staff member. They offered to pay $100 for a wheelchair. When the staff person stated that he would have to call someone, they two males "took off running" out the door.

To date, there hasn't been any similar activity reported at our hospital. To our knowledge, there hasn't been any related incidents at other healthcare facilities in central Illinois.

I just wanted to remind all staff to be alert and report any type of suspicious behavior to the Security Department.

I can't believe 2 ME men would go into a hospital and ask about the bioterror plans, etc. It's like they were asking for trouble.

The fellow trying to buy a weelchair, that's a compelling one. Weelchairs are widely available at places other than a hospital, right?

10 Al Qaeda Operatives in Chechnya — FSB

At least 10 members of the al Qaeda terror network are active on Russian territory, the head of the FSB announced Tuesday.

While federal forces killed Saudi mercenary and suspected al Qaeda operative Hattab and others fighting alongside separatists in south Russia’s Chechnya in the last few years, others, like Abu Hafs, have come to take their place, FSB head Nikolai Patrushev told NTV television.

He added that Russian intelligence knows the identity of certain al Qaeda representatives and “will take action to neutralize their activities. This means either their destruction, or their being brought to trial,” Gazeta.ru quoted him as saying.

Intelligence has linked al Qaeda with the separatist movement in Russia’s Muslim southern province in the past, and Moscow has cited al Qaeda’s alleged involvement in the separatist war when pressuring the West to extradite separatists who have asylum in Great Britain and the United States, in particular after the deadly spate terror attacks on Russian soil in August and September.

Danish Police Place Muslim Under Surveillance for Promising to Fight Russia (Another GITMO release!)

Danish authorities have established a constant watch over former Guantanamo prisoner Slimane Hadj Abderrahmane who had vowed to go to Chechnya to take part in the war against Russian forces, the Danish ambassador in Moscow told Russia’s Interfax news agency on Tuesday.

Danish authorities have reacted to recent public remarks made by Slimane Abderrahmane, seized his passport, arranged for him to live in a set place and established a constant watch over him, ambassador Lars Vissing said.

The statement was made after the ambassador was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday over Slimane Abderrahmane’s promises to continue his war against “infidels” in Chechnya.

The man said on live television he plans to travel to Chechnya and join Islamic militants fighting Russian forces. “I am going to Chechnya and fight for the Muslims,” Slimane Hadj Abderrahmane said during an interview on the DR-1 television channel last Wednesday. “The Muslims are oppressed in Chechnya and the Russians are carrying out terror against them.”

A pledge not to engage in warfare was a condition of Abderrahmane’s release, and Danish authorities are already looking into reconsidering his release. Danish Justice Minister Lene Espersen was quoted by AP as saying Abderrahmane’s comments represented “a new situation that the law enforcement authorities must reconsider.”

Of his pledge, Abderrahmane reportedly said, “They can use it as toilet paper over there in the United States.”

Abderrahmane, whose mother is Danish and father Algerian, has said he was in a training camp to join Islamic fighters in Chechnya when he was arrested in Pakistan and transferred to Guantanamo in February 2002.
