"Lawyers and witnesses in the" bogus Valerie Plame/Joe Wilson "probe said" FBI investigator "Fitzgerald is interested in a story co-written by Pincus that appeared in The Post on Oct. 12, 2003. That story said that on July 12, 2003, two days before Novak's column was published, an administration official told a Post reporter that Wilson's wife had recommended him for the trip to Niger. The official said she was a CIA employee but did not disclose her name. An attorney for The Post declined to comment."

Now, IMHO, Pincus certainly already knew who Plame was when he was at Wilson's house. I think Pincus screwed up and now has some 'splaining to do.
For your files. If I can find the 10/03 Pincus article I'll post it.

The latest case of media fraud CBS and the Bush documents should reinforce for us just how dishonest some in the media can be.
Thank you very much.
I also see it notes at the end that Novak will not comment, including whether he has spoken to the prosecutor.
I agree, Pincus has some 'splaining to do.
What we're witnessing now with the CBS forged document caper illustrates that the media is indeed capable of whipping of a false story in order to bring this president down. They even bandied about the word "impeachment" over this Wilson and Niger business.
Talk about an evil plot.
