I know about a year and a half ago we saw three blurry slides from a (ostensibly) security camera at a parking lot. But it's almost incomprehensible to me that a site like the Pentagon---which must be photographed and videotaped by tourists thousands of times a day---did not have one videocamera rolling at the time of the attack, or that, given the attacks in NY already, someone wasn't keeping their eyes on the skies. I keep thinking we will get a "previously undiscovered" video of the Pentagon plane.
The only thing I've seen is the security camera that takes photos every couple of seconds (not a continuous video) and there's one frame with nothing but the building and the next frame is the fireball. The place I saw it was on some lib website where they tried to claim it wasn't a plane that hit the Pentagon but a bomb inside - part of the Bush orchestrated the terrorist attacks lib conspiracy stuff.
I've only seen "stills" from Pentagon parking lot camera.....
do any of them show the plane?
Sittin Yonder, this is about as close as it gets.
At 300mph+, unless you were taping the exact part of the building that was hit, it is very plausible there is nothing but a security cam watching at that time.
For example, if you look at aerial photos of the path toward the point of impact on the Pentagon, you'll find lamp posts sheared off at distances that would occur if -- gee whiz -- a low-flying AIRPLANE struck them down. There's a lot more than that as well. Just do a Google Search and skip the kook fringe conspiracy sites.
See #7....that's it
I don't know how much the Pentagon gets photographed by tourists- you can't really get that close to the place. I have driven by it on Route 1- there really isn't a place that I have seen to stop and look at it. Maybe it was different before 9/11- I don't know, I wasn't here then- and I haven't really looked at it from other angles.
Just the Route 1/Potomac River side and the Arlington Cemetary side.
Speaking of which, which side of the Pentagon got hit? I think they repaired it all before I got here.
If I am not mistaken in the 9/11 commission report they state the plane was traveling 500+ mph when it hit the Pentagon.
Recall seeing pics of the crash--don't remember if it was on FR or in the local paper. A flag went up too. Just don't remember where I saw the pics of the Pentagon crash.
Also, has anyone seen the flight path of AA 77? I've heard that it made a pass and then came back around but I've never seen the actual flight path, as we have with the other three planes.
At that speed, if you were just the right distance away, and noticed the plane in time, and were not shocked into inaction, you MIGHT get three seconds of video.
you can see the 9 foot diameter, left engine impact point on the first floor wall, about 25 feet from the structure collapse (where the rest of the plane hit).
No missile or even a commuter jet, would do that.
If any turned up now, would the tinfoil hatters accept it?
I doubt there would have been "thousands" of tourists snapping pictures that early in the morning. Also, Sept. 11 wasn't a weekend or holiday, and everyone was back in school or their jobs.
True I think any tourist videos would have turned up by now. But I have to believe that the military headquarters of the most powerful military on the earth had more than one security camera covering the parking lot. I will be waiting for future unseen videos to be made public.
