BUSH'S 'ACCUSER' HAD BREAKDOWNS

September 13, 2004 -- The principal source for the "60 Minutes" story claiming President Bush failed to take a required physical to maintain his Vietnam-era flight status reportedly was a disgruntled former officer who suffered two nervous breakdowns.

The man, Bill Burkett, claims he was present at Texas Guard Headquarters in 1997, when Joe Allbaugh — an aide to Bush, who was by then governor — ordered the records "sanitized" to protect his boss, Newsweek magazine said.

Allbaugh called that story "absolute garbage." And White House Communications Director Dan Bartlett said Burkett is a "discredited source."

I read his law suit.
The gist is he went to a military hospital without proper identification and was refused hospitalization.
He then sued his superior officers because he did not have proper ID.
The suit was kicked out.

Wonder how Bill Burkett could obtain anything that belonged to Killian? Bush or Killian documents were not stored in Texas. If these were from Killian's file they would have stamps all over them. Did Burkett maintain Killian's personal files? Not a chance. Does Bill Burkett own a computer with MS Windows? You betcha!

Here's some more on Burkett: Source for the Forged Documents Unmasked?.

Terry McAuliffe was quoted on Sept. 8 that it was payback time for the Swiftboat ads. It's hard to believe they glommed on to anything as transparent as that nonsense.

"We have met the enemy, and they are really dumb."

This whole fiasco gets funnier by the day. No wonder Carvile was so glum yesterday.

This guy wasn't even in the air force, he was army. what was he doing in the air guard office?
Furthermore, C-B.S. said that these were 'recently uncovered documents', how long has it been since Loony Toons was even in the service? Are they telling us Burkett had these (fake)documents in his possession all these years?
LMAO too bizarre. I think it's sad that they are now trying to use a mentally unstable person as a convenient scapegoat.

Does anyone know who this army colonel lechliter is who came to a stunning conclusion based on fake documents that Bush never completed service? (Not that an army guy would know a whole lot about air force procedures anyway)...

I wonder if he "meticulously" examined kerry's record

Back in the good old' x42i days, voluminous press releases confounded public opinion enough to allow slick to survive his term.

This sKerry campaign is so discombobulated, idiotic, and downright ineffectual that even if the DNC kicked out 600 press releases per hour until Nov. 3rd, it still wouldn't cloud reality enough to make a positive difference.

There is no direction or even a coherent theme to his campaign except one - "anybody but Bush". That doesn't give you a lot to go on except 'scandal'.

But fellow officers said Burkett, far from being a disgruntled crank, is a stickler for proper military procedure.

But if you believe this theory, which I don't he got files he didn't have the right to. Hardly a proper military procedure.

What is Sen. Kerry HIDING in his 3.5 years of military records of which he's RELEASED SIX PAGES of? In 3.5 years of Naval Reserve service the paper trail is MORE than SIX MEASLY PAGES!

Could the records contain information about Kerry's 3 trips to Paris. Wasn't he still in the reserves when he met with the enemy? why wasn't he charged with a crime then? Who covered it up?

"Wasn't he still in the reserves when he met with the enemy? why wasn't he charged with a crime then? "

There are those that think Kerry may have been court martialed because of his colluding with the enemy in Paris. This would show up in the other 94 pages of Kerry's military record.

Maybe Burkett and McAwful can share a padded cell together. They'll have plenty of company...
