Live Thread: Kerry on Imus (starts 7:29 EST 09/15/04)
Imus Radio Show ^ | 09/15/04 | Don Imus

Posted on 09/15/2004 4:23:20 AM PDT by xm177e2

Democratic Presidential candidate John Kerry will be the guest at 7:29 am eastern. Senator Kerry has a lot of convincing to do, beginning with the I-Man.. whose support has waned in recent weeks. Despite several polls to the contrary, both campaigns acknowledge a 5-6 point lead for President Bush. Many analysts say it's a result of a post convention bump, and the GOP's ability to make the focus of the election national security and Kerry's record. The challenge for the Senator is to now put the emphasis back on domestic issues while separating the War in Iraq from the War on Terrorism. Can he turn the tide while continuing to play defense? Can he turn all the anti-Bush sentiment into a spark that ignites the Democratic base? Does he think it will ultimately come down to the debates? Will he finally be able to clearly frame his views on Iraq? Is John Edwards the VP candidate he thought he would be? John Kerry has his work cut out.. but, he can take a big step forward on Wednesday morning when/IF he answers the tough questions from IMUS.

After Rather/CBS he's got a hell of a nerve calling Unfit for Command a pack of lies motivated by politics. But, that's what he is. Things will hit him soon enough

Kerry says ask Bush, Ask Bush...he is the president...

I know! Let's just vote for Bush and eliminate the middleman!

He would do the same thing he did here. Simply say they are all lies, he hasn't read it, next question.

He couldn't do that in a real press conference or confrontational interview. They would ask specific questions about such things as his Xmas Eve in Cambodia, his first PH, his antiwar activites and meetings with the enemy in time of war, etc.

When Imus goes on the road with his show, the audiences always look like a local Chapter of FreeRepublic. Just as conservative too.

I just made the mistake of turning Imus on on my radio...

Here is what he just said

-- He is probably going to vote for Kerry
-- He thinks Rumsfeld is a "war criminal"
-- He thinks Wolfowitz and people like him "should be executed".. that is what he said.

So use those thoughts to color what kinds of questions you heard him ask Sen Botox.

And those 15 seconds were more than enough Imus for me. He goes back on permanent ignore.

Sure specific questions would be asked and his answer would be the same. He is not answering questions that are based on lies. Next question.

If Kerry did know the rules of war WHILE HE WAS A LEADER IN VIETNAM, how and the WORLD can we trust him to lead us in the war on terror?

I just can NOT believe that Kerry thinks he can get away with saying he can't answer hypothetical questions. Good GRIEF!

He's gonna get the debate questions ahead of time. They'll HAVE to give them to Kerry. He couldn't hope to answer them otherwise.

You won't hear that anywhere else. Imus keeps both sides of his audience that way.

He just very clearly put his bias out there. Don't ignore his interviews.

Kerry is either a liar or a lying war criminal.

Great selection the Dems have made. Talk about a Hobson's choice.

Yeah, but Imus'd be a deposition "artist" according to some here. Whatever the hell that is.

Didn't know about free fire zones being war crimes while in VN (is that why zumwalt said kerry made full use of the phrase "free fire" against civilians)

O'Neil said on Hannity last night that Kerry was the only one he was aware of who didn't know that "free-fire zone" didn't mean "shoot at anything that moves"; as I recall, he said it meant that they didn't explicit permission per incident to shoot the enemy.

That's THE IMPORTANT thing about the interview. He excercised the worst possible judgement after VietNam.. and still thinks he was right. He said it all right there.

The interesting thing is that during the debates with Pres Bush YOU KNOW, and HE KNOWS that one question absolutely positively will be:

"Sen Kerry what is your plan for dealing with the present situation in Iraq?"

And it is clear that as of now, he still has no answer to that question. He cannot answer from his beliefs, because he has none, and he still has not gotten the crack campaign staff to concoct a line of spinning baloney that even remotely sounds plausible.

Oh, except for getting into a clinch with Jacques Chirac.

But, as Sen Botox keeps saying, our campaign is going just FINE, thankyouverymuch.

"What an A@#$%^%. He is using the 911 widows for support."

Meanwhile the NYC Fireman's Union, breaking from the National Union, is backing Pres. Bush and had a tearful and touching meeting with the Pres. with an official endorsement in Queens a few weeks ago. You don't see our President bragging about that, or using it as a tool. Kerry is simply ridiculous -- no class at all!!!
