WHAT'S NEW ========== Burkett Calls for 'Blood,' Says He Contacted Dem. Sen. Cleland

--RatherBiased.com has obtained every message typed by former National Guardsman Bill Burkett in the past year before Memogate on the the Yahoo Texas Democratic message groups. One of the lists is comprised of 62 messages and 43 Word pages.

Fortunately, here they are easily searchable on the same HTML page and numbered.

They are contained here and here .

We provide some of the highlights from the TexasDemocrat2 group, but there are many, many more notable "red flags" that can be searched out. Rather's Memogate broke on Sep. 8.

Message # 1 (Sep 4): I believe that Bush knows that there is more coming out than Ben barnes. No proof, just gut instinct.

Message # 12 (Aug 21): But the DNC is afraid of me, I guess, and afraid to do what I suggest....You can't wait for someone to attack you in these campaigns. You must be prepared for someone to attack you and respond immediately and in force. That's what's missing. Some of you call it James Carville. I call it common sense. And let this be a message for us in Texas. Now I know I scare some of you - and some of you just aren't up for leaving any blood on this battlefield. But it's going to take some blood if we are going to take this country and this state back from the Bush's Rove's Delays, Hughes, Perrys and Parrys. If you aren't willing to scrap in this campaign - you'll be fighting for scraps throughout the rest of history of our country. It's that important and that simple.

Message # 5 (Aug 31): Why can't he get it? He's missing the obvious. And when senior Democrats try to get the message through - they are blocked by five or six layers of bureaucracy. The team is bureaucratic, slow of foot and lethargic; they are numb to reality. We have to win. But winning in spite of the candidate will be a first.

Message # 9 (Aug 21): But y personal experience simply says that dealing with all campaigns, and especially Karl Rove campaigns - you are always ready to respond with whatever force is required. But you respond and respond immediately. Now if that's nasty to you, so be it. But I don't like the connotation you've tried to paint and feel it is improperly pointed.

Message # 12 (Aug 21): I spent some time on the phone with the Kerry campaign seniors yesterday after having to threaten to whip a little ass in order to get through seven layers of bureaucratic kids trying to get a job after the election. I talked with Max Clelend. I hope he got the message, but even if he did, I'm not sure that his side of the issue can beat out the other half of the advisors. And that's a problem.

"One of the interesting things about a changing economy is that our workers are more productive than ever before," Bush said. "That means instead of using a hoe, you use a backhoe. Or instead of using, you know, a regular old standard typewriter, you use a computer. In other words, that's an example of becoming more productive."

LOLOLOL!! Sometimes our president just cracks me up!

This link has pictures of the documents. They are pretty small on my computer.

The story to go with the graphics is here:

This just doesn't add up. Burkett is the poster boy of fall guys. He's got an axe to grind, he's had nervous breakdowns, he posts strategy on **Yahoo boards**, for crying out loud. And we're all supposed to respond, 'hey, lone crazy, busted, case closed.' And with Rather, 'hey, doddering egomaniac, it all fits.' It is just way too pat for professionals like the DNC.

How is he alone? We have proof he talked to triple amputee veteran Cleland ( I Love that detail, btw.) and others on the campaign.

...how is he alone?...

Well, I don't think he was, but that's the way it's being put across. Professional Bush hater Burkett composes the memos, then faxes them from the Kinko's down the road. Means, motive, opportunity. And just in case we can't draw the connection, he telegraphs a few punches on Yahoo boards, for easy Googling. Cleland, Barnes, Van Os quarantined, Burkett left holding the bag. The only actual crime committed is Burkett's forging of a military document, everyone else covered by plausible deniability. Doesn't it all sound a bit too neat, to you? Thinking back to the Clinton years, I remember the command and control structure, and the way they had a fallback position for every disaster. Surely the Dems haven't changed that much?

I keep my tinfoil hat handy...but I just cannot believe CBS would expect us to believe Burkett is an unimpeachable source...Someone was helping Burkett...His lawyer,Van Os is running for State Supreme Court...on the dem ticket..backed by the Texas Progressive,Populist Dem party that has also sent a message on their site to support Burkett.

Yes, I see your point. But in real life, don't most crimes seem pretty neat once you solve them? Was Buckhead a plant?

Wait, I get what you're saying. You are saying is the Burkett story was the break glass in case of emergency story. The insurance policy?

I agree. Burkett has done so much research into Bush, that he comes out with memos that have so many errors. I don't think so.

Yep. The Swifties are drawing blood, so Burkett, originally the October surprise, is activated early. The question is, who broke the glass?

I found that the most interesting of the emails. I don't think Burkett considers himself a "senior Democrats" and he uses the plural. So the question now has to be asked who are the "senior Democrats" that are being "blocked" by bureaucracy on Aug 31st? Remember a few days earlier, Aug 21st, Burkett says he is on phone with the Kerry campaign seniors. It appears there is a second call to the Kerry camp.

Forgot to add this to my post.

Where are the calls..no, DEMANDS to know who Burkett spoke to at the Kerry Campaign?

Who spoke to him and when?

Sounds like a nice battlecry to me.

You have stated the key question. When you say CBS, that needs to be qualified. CBS in the case of this story is essentially Rather. I do not believe that Heyward had any control over Rather on this story. It was Dan who called the source unimpeachable when he was in cover-up mode and in shock that forgeries were so quickly found out and the MSM were supporting the bloggers. But the issue goes beyond the forged documents. The issue is now, how could CBS and Rather base a story on such an uncredible source that had been sent packing by the Boston Globe, Newsweek and et al. The answer is the foundation of the stonewall. Rather was a willing participant in drive by political hit job intended to take down a sitting President of the United States. The fact that forgeries were involved makes that criminal. The founder of this forum correctly characterized this act bordering on treasonous given the fact that we are in a state of war.
