Rather Ambushed at Dallas Airport; Anchor Bashes Fox September 18, 2004 15:34:06 EDT Fox News has reported that Dan Rather received the "60 Minutes treatment" when he was confronted by a local Dallas TV reporter.
Rather has flown to Dallas apparently to help his CBS people in Dallas get their stories straight and bolster their defense. More and more media organizations are picking apart Rather's claims, as more is uncovered about the Texas Democrats who seem to have originated the story.
The reporter, from the local Fox affiliate, asked Rather if he felt he was duped. Rather shot back, "Do you feel like you were duped -- working for Fox like you do?"

Haha! I had seen a photo a couple of years ago of these slippers on ebay, and this isn't the same photo but there was another one out there on google.

I heard Mr. Rather might be breaking a story about forged documents soon.

Yes, it surely appears that way. One thing he wasn't going to do was admit wrong doing in any form or manner. Answering the question with an ad hominen counter attack was quite clever considering the damaging nature of the question.
The first time I remember seeing Dan Rather was during the time of the Kennedy Assassination. Then I seem to remember him covering the Oswald arrest who had just murdered Officer Tippit of the Dallas Police. I still remember the reporter that called at the Tippit home immediately after the killing of the officer and asked his newly widowed wife "How she felt". Was that reporter Dan Rather? Does anyone who was around during that time remember. I never got over that insensitive quesion that has almost become standard in today's media.

TAH DAH!! Thank you - I was thinking of "Dirty Laundry" last week. Besides being a hot dance tune - it seems to have been a forerunner of where we are today.
Rather is in BUSH country now....and we've all got rifles in our pickups....

Bingo. I suspect after the ratings Fox got durning the Rep. Convention they were willing to do anything to get ratings. Alas.......they sold their soul to the devil.
I would have asked Rather a different question. "When did you decide to stop being a journalist and start being a shameless political propagandist for the Democratic Party, you old gasbag?"
There are a lot of good retirement homes that can give a senile geezer like Rather a comfortable place to live out his remaining years. It's a shame he hasn't been shipped off to one.
