Carl Cameron was just on Fox saying Maxie confirmed there was contact with Burkett. He also said that Kerry was pushing this 60 Minutes piece as a "must see" to his traveling press for several weeks PRIOR to it coming out. Carl Cameron, as we all know, is one of them traveling with Kerry.

Several weeks? I thought the documents were received days before the story ran? (Apologies if this point has been made, I'm just making my way through the thread.)

DNC created an ad July 20 and invited the press to come see it - the ad was called Fortunate Son.

CBS memos were used in the ad.

White House didn't get copies of the memos until three hours before the 60 Minutes special was aired.
