XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX MON SEPT 20, 2004 20:02:09 ET XXXXX

BUSH OFFICIALS WANT CBSNEWS MODERATOR OFF DEBATE Just hours after CBSNEWS admitted it cannot prove the authenticity of documents used in a 60 MINUTES story about President Bush's National Guard service, top Bush advisers are recommending a CBS reporter be removed as moderator of a planned presidential debate, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

At question is the approved Oct. 13 debate at Arizona State University in Tempe with Bob Schieffer, chief Washington correspondent for CBSNEWS, moderating.

"Considering the circumstances, we should definitely ask that Schieffer be replaced," a top Bush adviser told the president on Monday, according to a well-placed source.

The well-placed source continued: "Who can trust these CBS people to play it straight [during the debate]? I suspect they will be out for revenge."

The president is said to have not made any decision whether to seek a removal of the planned CBSNEWS moderator.

Punishment is good....

Pulling CBS off of the debates is a good start, but jail time is what these people deserve.

Oct 8 Missouri... Town hall style (Can't believe he agreed to this)

That's the conventional wisdom, but when you think about it, which candidate will do better up close with real people? GWB or the Flopper? Bush-Cheney will run the table in these debates. A clear and decisive 4-0 drubbing.

Bush will kick butt on Sept. 30, and he'll overwhelm Kerry on Oct. 8 due to the town hall format. The last debate on Oct. 13 provides sufficient time to allow Bush to recover from any mistake. Cheney will crucify Edwards on Oct. 5.

President Bush will win these debates hands down...IF, he is studied by his Team well.

The KEY to winning these debates will be to USE KERRY's FLIP FLOPS against him, with a little humor.
When JFnK goes into a diatribe about WRONG WAR WRONG TIME, the President will simply say, "I thank my opponent for finally picking a stance on the WOT...but what will his position be tomorrow...?"

When JFnK says we have not assembled a coalition of the willing but instead a coalition of the bribed...President Bush should simply say, "Senator Kerry, please stop insulting our allies, the UK, Italy, Poland, Japan..."

There are plenty of JFnK quotes to pull up and remind people of what Kerry said then and now and then and now...

Since CBS is the subject of late night jokes, I'm in favor of them moderating a debate.

The Libs in the Press core are going to attempt to sabotage Bush no matter when or what venue. Why ditch a news organization just busted for attempting to manipulate a Presidential election? Best case scenario they will have to make an effort to appear fair if they want to attempt to regain credibility. Worst case they soft ball Kerry, grill G.W., and we point out it's CBS- Home of the Forgery scandel.

Schieffer was being serviced by I'manass this morning. The bias goes to the core of this team of liberal heads.

I was hoping this would happen. Maybe they can get Britt Hume.

I second that! Britt is the ONLY anchor today with any modicum of balance.

I think Laura Ingraham kicked him hard enough where it counts, that he now remembers who brought him to the dance. NOOOOOOWWWW, suddenly he notices the elite media bias against the swift vets - and hits Rather with the forgeries, albeit with a heavily cushioned boxing glove. Anybody else see this?

No longer matters if he remembers who brought him to the dance, because we now realize he's just a whore. He pretended to be conservative, as long as it kept the bucks flowing in. O'Reilly can go back to his Liberal buddies

Yeah, I'm seeing it, but I don't think O'Reilly's even hitting Rather as hard as you say. I think he's still trying to make excuses for Dan, and trying to deflect the blame away from him.

I also watched Isikoff try to take all the credit on behalf of the MSM for busting the story wide open, and trying to claim that this should put all conservative gripes about liberal bias to rest once and for all. What a load of crap - if it weren't for bloggers, Drudge, Fox, talk radio and FR, this story would have been buried deeper than whale sh!t on the bottom of the Pacific.

I love it! Since Kerry is such a poor opponent, our team decides that taking CBS out will keep us interested! And they're right!

CBS is crippled as a legitimate "news" agency.

They don't deserve to moderate a coffee clutch debate at a nail salon.

More humor: GWB should adopt the Millionaire TV show and ask Kerry, Is that your final answer? Do you want to poll the audience? Phone a friend? etc
