MCAULIFFE: WILL GOP ANSWER IF THEY KNOW WHETHER STONE, OTHERS HAD INVOLVEMENT WITH CBS DOCUMENTS?
Washington, D.C. - In response to false Republican accusations regarding the CBS documents, Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe issued this statement:
“In today’s New York Post, Roger Stone, who became associated with political ‘dirty tricks’ while working for Nixon, refused to deny that he was the source the CBS documents.
“Will Ed Gillespie or the White House admit today what they know about Mr. Stone’s relationship with these forged documents? Will they unequivocally rule out Mr. Stone’s involvement? Or for that matter, others with a known history of dirty tricks, such as Karl Rove or Ralph Reed?”

No, no, no. It's CBS that was standing by the memos before they weren't. It's the Kerry campaign who didn't know anything about the memos before they did. The DNC thought Rove forged them before they thought Stone did. Get it?

FWIW, Nixon never ordered the break in of Ellsbergs shrinks office nor did he have any beforehand knowledge of anything that happened at the Watergate Building that night.
When he found out after the fact he, tried to cover for his friends who were involved. He was a strong believer in loyalty among friends. John Dean had to know this and must always know the personal contempt that Nixon held him in after his testimony.
The charge of Obstruction of Justice was the impeachable offense which he resigned under the threat of.
He resigned less than half way through a second term that he won in the largest landslide in modern American history.

Unfortunately, McAuliffe isn't stupid at all. I think he's appealing to the DUer-type. Kerry is tanking fast and I think they've seen the writing on the wall. What has energized the Kerry campaign, to the extent there was any energy, is hatred for Pres. Bush. MA is stoking that hatred to keep it alive. That's also what the planned vote recount is all about. Keep their base angry for the next four years. These are issues that they can write about and use to keep the fans flamed. If Hillary is going to run in 2008, she's going to need the anger of these people to even begin to think about success.
Good call! There is nothing new under the sun...as written in Ecclesiastes. We can find parallels throughout history, including in The Bible, that can be compared to today. Only arrogance would prevent us from seeing that.

They would do well to jettison the Ramsey Clark, Teddy Kennedy wing of the party. They would be wise to reconsider the baggage associated with Hillary Clinton.
Any really smart Democrat patriot candidate will be saying and meaning, "I support these troops in the field. I support their morale. I will not bad-mouth this commander-in-chief with troops in the field. I might do XYZ differently (and here's how), but America MUST be there because the enemy has attacked us on our own soil. In domestic policy I have A2X different than Pres. Bush, and here is how I'd do it."
That kind of calm, rational approach would win back all of the democrats.
They need Harry Truman and his legacy, but they kicked him out of the party and had him speak at the Republican Convention!
I hate giving them advice, but I'm certain that Ramsey Clarkers/Hanoi Johns will NEVER take it. They are a blight on this land. For the sake of America this branch of the democrat party must die. Maybe something viable can be rebuilt.

I am really disappointed that the media – and not just the liberal media – have ignored this fact. How in the world did Tall Tales Terry KNOW on September 9th that the docs were fakes? He obviously had at least KNOWLEDGE of the fake docs, maybe more! I have e-mailed Michelle Malkin and suggested this as a story line. Hopefully someone in the media will take a look at this question.
