Hello to everyone who has been praying for my father. As I said in my last update, he was discharged from the hospital to hospice care. (By the way, he is also the daughter of new freeper pkswan.) He also has a very loving wife, one other daughter besides pkswan and myself, and a son. Lots of grandkids, three son in laws and one daughter in law.

We brought him home on Tuesday late afternoon by ambulance. He was able to visit with all of his family members and friends that have come by to see him that day and the next day.

When he got home on Tuesday he was hungry. Hungry for the first time in days in fact. His dinner request? Frito pie. So he ate two helpings of frito pie!

I had asked for prayer for him to be able to vote before he dies. Thanks to information from freeper IamHD, we were able to take him by ambulance yesterday to the Barbara Bush Library and he was able to do curbside voting. They came out to the ambulance with a portable machine and he was able to vote for his beloved George W. Bush for re-election. That was so very important to him to be able to do and I am thrilled to have been able to go with him.

Shortly after we returned, he lapsed into a coma. He is still in the coma and I anticipate that very shortly, perhaps in the next few hours, he will be home with his Saviour and with his mother and father.

He has had all of his friends and family come to see him today to say goodbye.

Thank you all so very much for praying. Please take a moment to look at the pictures of him voting.

Also, please feel free to send the pictures out if you like. He felt voting was so important that this is what he chose in his final hours. Please make sure everyone you know does the same thing.

For those that think they just don't have time to go vote, please tell them about dad, Robert Dimmick.

I am so very proud of him and love him so very much.

Everyone..last night I posted an update about my Dad, but I forgot to ping the list.

Thank you all for your prayers. I told him about them and he said "Thank you and God Bless" to you all.

Please take a look at my update at post 173 and at 176. He did get to vote and I have posted the pictures.

He passed away shortly after I posted the update with the pictures. He died very peacefully and comfortably.

Please, ping any of your lists that you think might be interested. I was so proud of him going to vote, being so weak and all.

I am so proud of him, that I would like everyone to know about him.

His name was Robert Dimmick and he was a great Christian and a great Dad.

Tammy-The pictures stole my heart.

What a good man your father is...and I imagine him telling his friends in heaven all about his last venture on earth...May God embrace him wonderously and comfort all of you as you grieve and begin to share favorite memories of your dad.

I am overwhelmed with the shots of his voting...and wish that you would send these on to the White House...your father's effort to vote deserves national attention, it impresses upon all the incredible importance of voting and the intense dedication and courage your father demonstrated elevates all of us.

God Bless you, it is an honor to post to this thread.

I hope every FReeper gets to review your pictures above and share in this miracle...and I bet the pancakes in heaven are beyond delicious!

My heartfelt condolences. Your dad was a fine-looking man with a gentle, loving face.

There at my Savior's side, Heaven is my home
I shall be glorified, Heaven is my home
There are the good and blest, those I love most and best
And there, I, too, shall rest, Heaven is my home.

To texasflower, pkswan:

May your Father rest in peace. May God bless y'all and your families.

I am glad your Father got to fulfill his wish and could vote for President Bush before he passed away.

I can tell that must have made him and you happy for that.

I was just pinged to this thread. I know how sad you must be but what a wonderful father and how blessed he was to have a daughter like you. I was so proud of him when I saw those pictures that I'm teary eyed.

Hi everyone. This is the final post to my prayer request thread for my dad. It began in September and ended with my dad's death about a month later.

To remind everyone, my dad was determined to vote for President Bush during early voting the week before the election, despite being in the last days of his life. We took him by ambulance and he voted inside the ambulance with the help of an election official. The pictures are at post 173.

He went into a coma just hours after that and died a day later. Voting was very literally his last act of this earth.

Many of you mentioned that we should let President Bush know about my Dad's story.

It appears that some of you were busy (and wonderful) freepers. All of you were wonderful to pray for my dad and my family.

Someone ( or many of you ) went a bit further!

My mother has received a letter from President Bush AND a letter from FORMER President Bush!

I haven't seen the letters yet, but my mother says they both talk personally to my mom about my dad. (not form letter stuff)

I'll see the letters at Christmas. I didn't ask her many details about what they said, because I want to read them myself, just as if I opened the letters myself. Does that make sense?

They are a very great comfort to my mom, that's for sure.

The Bush family is just amazing, I think.

I just wanted to tell whoever you are, thank you for taking the time to let the President(s) know.

BTW, we celebrated the re-election pretty hard at our house on November 3rd. I'm sure that Dad was celebrating in heaven with Jesus and the angels!

Love to all!
