So 92 senators voted for it. Any guess as to how many will call it a "tax break for the wealthy" in their campaign?

So either Kerry was one of the 5 that missed it, or three that opposed it. I'm guesing he didn't bother to vote. Same with Edwards. It's remarkable that a man that promises to fix all our problems cannot even keep that promise in the job he was elected to perform.
4 tax cuts in Bush's term. Desires to overhaul the system in his second. Yes, there are many reasons to keep this President around and give him the support he needs in Congress and House.
I still haven't found one pro-American reason to elect kerry.

"In the Senate, the three lawmakers who opposed passage were "Sens. Lincoln Chafee, R-R.I., Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, and Fritz Hollings, D-S.C. All three are strong supports of tougher action to address government deficits."
"Kerry and Sen. John Edwards, D-N.C., both out on the campaign trail, did not vote on the tax cut legislation. Other senators not voting were Sens. Daniel Inouye, D-Hawii; Daniel Akaka, D-Hawaii, and Edward Kennedy, D-Mass."

Don't they realize this is going to deprive the government of billions? How in the world are we going to afford entitlements with this huge government giveaway?

Democrats in both chambers joined in support of the politically popular measure even though they criticized the Republican-led Congress' refusal to pay for the new tax relief at a time of soaring budget deficits Tax cuts pay for themselves. Reagan showed that tax cuts INCREASE tax revenue for the government. It also helps reduce the need for government wealth redistribution programs because it cuts out the middleman (government) and the middleman's cut of our money.

I am personally against middle class tax cuts. I think tax cuts should be across the board or not at all. It's already too lopsided.

I say Hallelujah. Last year's tax cut was the first since Reagan's that actually lowered my taxes in any appreciable way. And I was very grateful indeed.

So? Will all of the liberals who are against tax cuts, especially the liberals from the middle and upper income levels, kindly forward their $1000 per child tax credit to my account? Just wondering?????
To: frog_jerk_2004
Wow. See, I said things would run better if Congress were only in session for a couple of months per year. A lot is getting done now that we're only a couple of months from the election. Let's hold elections every year and limit the Congressional and Senate terms to 60 days prior to the election. LOL, who knows, it may woik.
