BAGHDAD, Iraq - A posting on an Islamic Internet site Saturday claimed that an al-Qaida-linked group has killed British hostage Kenneth Bigley. The claim could not immediately be confirmed.
Bigley was kidnapped earlier this week with two Americans, who have since been beheaded. They were all taken by the Tawhid and Jihad group of Jordanian terror mastermind Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
The posting appeared on a Web site usually used by Zarqawi's followers to make their statements. The Foreign Office in London said it was aware of such a claim but described the site as "discredited."
"We don't think it's anything to be taken too seriously," the Foreign Office statement said.
The site also claimed that seven British troops had been captured, but Capt. Donald Francis, a spokesman for the British military said that all forces "are accounted for."
He had no information on the claim to have executed the British hostage.
The statement appeared in red script on the Web site and consisted of only two sentences: "Tawhid and Jihad announces that it has executed the British citizen and gives you the good news of kidnapping seven British soldiers. We will be releasing the tape shortly."
This news just makes me physically ill. I cannot fathom how some one can be trained to believe in such barbaric method of murder.
I know it is their background, their faith who they are ..
Yet if these murderes were found, I would be the first in line for the shot to their hearts. Oops they do not have hearts.

Can someone tell me why these sites still exist? Why doesn't internic or the international analog simply yank their domain?
The person who owns the site is known. They have an address. Wait until about 2:30 a.m. and use it for nighttime target practice for a blockbuster.
People that want to peddle that stuff can do so in the next life. And we'll even help them get there.
Prayers for the victims and their families..May justice be served on the perpetrators of these atrocities..

I suppose someone can but outside the US the regulations are not as tough as if ours are thus most have their companies in countries I cannot pronounce.
There are several alternative sites, I was sent one from here and let me tell you not even the most seasoned and prepared military person would be able to watch it without gagging right there and then with nightmares to boot.
There is something to be said for showing and reminding folks that what these guys do is done every single day when Saddam ruled. Oops those folks on care that we did not find WMD.

I had hopes for a different outcome. I sit here in my little corner of the world and it's inconceivable to me there are people out there who can and do treat fellow human beings like this. It's not enough that he was so terrorized that he resorted to begging for his life.
The only answer I ever come up with is that there truly is such a thing as evil in this world.
I will say a special prayer for this man's family.

I've weighed the pros and cons of showing the brutality of these thugs and come down on the issue like this.
There are many things in life that I do not support. I do not need to see them committed to know that.
Homosexuality, rape, capital crimes, pedophilia, assault, armed robery... I think you get the picture.
Perhaps some folks need to see a beheading to be against it. I don't personally think it's necessary to observe one, to understand the inhumanity of it. It's a cold blooded godless act. If it were warranted as a capital crime punishment, it's deterent effect might be paletable. That would be the only situation under which it should be used. And yes, I don't have much sympathy for someone we gets to the point that they've been meeted out a capital punishment.
To behead someone for merely offending you, is barbaric. It's sub-human. It reveals the base sub-human aspects of the religion or supreme being you wish to honor.
The God I worship would not ask his followers to behead someone for trying to feed, supply or lend a helping hand to my fellow citizens. Those that do this in the name of Allah, are cursing Allah's nature each time they do it.
What they are saying, is that Allah is sub-human. They are saying that he is not merciful even to his own followers. He would rather see them starve and live miserable lives than have friends from other nations help them.
