IMO Since the purpose of this TANG story was a response to the Swift Boats Vets, very simple keep the CBS story alive for as long as possible.

Keep all media focused on CBS and nobody will be bothered to ask JFKerry that question..... What the .ell were you doing in Paris cavorting with the enemy?

Doesn't really matter. We're getting a twofer here. Rather's going down and Kerry's boat is listing and taking on water fast. Look for the rats to begin deserting the sinking ship soon. Isn't it great when a plan (Hillary's) comes together?

Interesting theory, but riddle me this:

Are they (CBS, DNC, Kerry campaign) smart enough to have created easily discovered forgeries to divert attention from the SBV ads, knowing all along it would cause this amount of furor?

Or are they so stupid to have created a forgeries from '72 using 90's technology in a felonious attempt to influence an election?

In 4 more years Hillary will be so ugly and vile that she will be completely unelectable!

Can't stand to listen to her now, imagine how shrill she'll be in the future!

I see another decade of RNC control!

I sure hope you are correct. We have some very fickle Americans who allowed the Clintons two terms.

Where is the outrage?

Why should anyone be surprised?

There should have been outrage at the way the Democrats stole the New Jersey Senate seat in 2002.

There should have been outrage over the leaked Democrat Senate Judiciary Committee memos detailing attempts to defer approving court nominees until favorable rulings were attained in federal court.

There should have been outrage over the leaked Democrat Senate Intelligence Committee memo detailing plans to use intelligence to string along Republicans until they can "pull the trigger" and force investigations on Bush during the 2004 campaign.

There should have been outrage over former National Security Advisor Sandy Berger stealing highest secret documents from the National Archives by stuffing them down his pants prior to President Clinton's testimony at the 9/11 Commission, and then claiming that they were inadvertanly removed and inadvertantly destroyed.

It's a little late to be wondering about outrage now.

First off "forgeries" indicate copying of something, the only thing about the documents copied was Killian's signature the rest were made up - faked.

Second, there was no expectation that anyone would question the veracity of the documents so quickly, after all they claim the White House saw them and did not disclaim their veracity. Then they bring on some "new age" spiritualist to give authenticity to the documents.

Third, Joe Lockhart said his conversation with Burkett was about responding to the Swift Boats Vets.

Fourth, There has been no admission that the documents are fakes, they only admit they cannot verify them but the "substance" within is correct.

Fifth, CBS and even the DNC have done everything to keep the story alive without firing anyone and basically ignoring what they have done.

Isn't Ben Barnes a top official within the Kerry campaign?

And why didn't CBS mention this?

It's disturbing, but if I read his next column the feeling will probably pass.

What allowed the Clintons two terms was:

a) Too many disillusioned (Read my lips) American conservatives throwing away their vote on a nutcase like H. Ross Perot, who stood absolutely NO chanceof winning; and

b) The Republican party running Dole, an American hero but a pi$$-poor candidate.

We cannot leave out those that actually voted for him as well, so "fickle" Americans fits all categories.
