Biden Says Assured Allawi of Support if Kerry Wins

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A leading Democratic senator said on Sunday he assured interim Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi that U.S. support for him would continue if John Kerry (news - web sites) were elected president.

Allawi, who paid a high-profile visit to the White House last week, responded: "Thank you, and I know it," said Sen. Joseph Biden (news, bio, voting record), the ranking Democrat on the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Biden and other senators met with Allawi, who addressed Congress and the U.N. General Assembly during his trip.

In an interview on "Fox News Sunday," Biden angrily disputed assertions by the administration that Kerry's criticism of Bush policy in Iraq (news - web sites) meant he would abandon the effort.

"I personally was authorized by Kerry in front of all my colleagues to say the first thing in a private meeting. I said, 'Mr. President, you know me.' And he said, 'Yes, I do.' I said, 'I guarantee you that John Kerry as president -- you will continue to have the full support of the United States of America in order to be able to establish a representative republic.' He said, 'Thank you, and I know it."'

At the White House on Thursday, President Bush (news - web sites) said he and Allawi would "stay the course" in Iraq.

How do we know?
This isn't coming from Kerry's mouth.
This is coming from a Senatorial colleague.

Kerry is so stupid he didn't realize the damage he created in dissing Allawi. Biden, only slightly less stupid, did, and scrambled to wipe up Johnny's mess.

Ah, yes, Biden. What an interesting man. He graduated from the correspondence school "Accountancy Made Easy." He then feathered his credentials by lying about his "ivy league school background." His IQ is barely room temperature, but, nevertheless, he mimics and prances about the senate chamber as an intellectually charged senator, when he fact he is an imbecile elected and re-elected by the morons in his state that are undermining our nation...like so many other morons.

Interesting. I never knew this, but then again I only recently learned what a complete fraud mega-liberal Tom Harkin is, completely faking Vietnam war hero status (he was never in 'Nam!).

Allawi doesn't get to vote. But he'd be a fool to trust these clowns one inch.

True.

And coming from Reuters, it's barely more credible than if it came from al-jazeera.

BIDEN: Well, that's easy. There's nothing at all contradictory at the time.

-snip-

That's a statement of fact. It's very, very good he's gone. Kerry's happy he's gone. Kerry would have done everything to get rid of him. But he would not have mismanaged and sent so many mixed signals that this administration has, so that the end result is today we have something close to chaos in that region.

WALLACE: But, Senator...

BIDEN: That's totally consistent.

Now, Senator Biden, what was that answer Kerry gave to Letterman last week?

Ummm, so you mean he (Kerry) is lying when he says he'll pull the troops out within six months? Is this Biden's idea of "support"? Leaving the Iraqi's in it's infantile state of self rule to fend for itself?

Yeah right.

Yes, that's true, Bush stopped short and tens of thousands died. That's why going through the UN, coalition building, or having political Generals give you advice is a disaster waiting to happen.

Our lessons from the 1st Iraq war should have been, "Have no pity on your enemies and F the allies, we don't need them."

Does this mean Kerry will be using two of his multiple personalities at the debate?? Do they have enough podiums should he decide to use more?

Oh, yes, and I'm sure Alawi is planning on taking Biden's assurances to the bank first thing tomorrow morning.

Biden: "Rest assured Mr. Allawi, you will have Kerry's support if he is elected. But, only during the first 2 weeks of February 2005. For the next 2 weeks, Kerry will consider you a puppet again and you will be on your own. For the first 3 days of March, you will have his support again in a very nuanced way, but the next day, forget about it. After that, Kerry will pretend he has never heard of you as he will be on vacation in the Swiss Alps for 3 months. If you are still around when he gets back, he might consider giving you lukewarm support for 6 days, but after that, he intends on signing Al-Zarqawi on as one his personal advisers, so you better work fast"

Kerry damage control ALERT. Biden doesn't have any trouble speaking for another man...he apparently does it even in his own speeches.

Not only was Harken not in Vietnam, but he is a notorious card-carrying member of the international socialist/communist conspiracy!
