Funny how four out of the last six Democrat Presidents have instituted a draft, and one of the remaining two put our current Selective Service system into place, and no Republican President has instituted a draft since Lincoln.
Yeah, those Donks will stop the draft...
NICK COCCO (College senior): Yeah. It's the talk. The talk's there. Though people aren't actually coming out and saying it, it's, it's there. "
Har.
Bingo.
The bills are sponsored by DEMOCRATS. Kerry is the one advocating mandatory national service.
I do not think this country is ready for a draft.
Ping. Let's get 'em with emails!
I found this on Michelle Malkin's Website. With Dan Rather on board, it must be an orchestrated effort by the Dems to scare folks to Kerry.

Any coverage of this in the MSM?
< crickets chirping >
Thought so.
So Cocco admits she would vote for Howdy Doody.
How nice to let us know that she's a nitwit.
If the Democrats were successful in pushing through a draft, how does she know there would be no deferments for college?
This entire bogus report will be slammed within a week. There is nothing that will save Kerry. Never was, never will be.
That pretty much describes my own feelings about a possible Kerry presidency. |
Good rant Smells...and Welcome to FreeRepublic, SP sweety.
The plain facts are these...Republicans have always had to go over the heads of the media to talk to the public. Remember Reagan? While Bill Clinton contaminated our TV's with announcements about ingrown toe nails--the MSM wouldn't touch the Monica story until Drudge broke it-- Bush couldn't even get coverage for a major policy speech at AEI on the eve of going to war!
FreeRepublic exists because this has been the unchallenged status quo until the age of the internet. You and I are the troops!! Get out there, make some noise.
Like a stopped clock--Algore was actually right on one occasion when he talked about the "echo chamber" and the "zeitgeist". How else will the GOP get the message out? Al just forgot to mention the their side has the media bullhorns trying to drown us out.
Both sides manipulate.
This "man on the street" thing is so old it is getting worn out. Another example can be found at NPR with their interviews with "undecided swing voters" who only donate to democrats.
Unbelievable that CBS would still be trying to do this. No, I guess it's all too believable.
But the word is finally getting out what a joke they are.
Can't be soon enough for me!
This women could use a little more faith. The Bible tells us 365 times not to be afraid. This being a leap year I guess she's allowed one day to be afraid. She needs to learn to give it to God after she prays and stop worrying.
Does this mean that FreeRepublic is gonna start a draft?
Whenever I hear anything about "Bush wanting to secretly restart" the draft, I've asked if the speaker knows if there is any legislation about reinstatement. The usual reply is "Don't know for sure." Then I hit 'em with the evidence about Rangels' political charade.
It gets the 18 to 26 year olds' attention.
So what's the issue? Are the regular forces streached? Yes, even the Pentagon says that. Are there rumors of a draft? Yes, regardless of the source of the rumors only a fool would say that they don't exist or that people aren't buying in to them. Do either candidate support a draft? No, and CBS quoted both of them on this. The problem isn't that CBS reported this, or that they gave it more than their usual media bias. The problem is that Bush can deny plans for a draft until he's blue in the face and a significant percentage of the population won't believe him. The question is why won't they believe him?
So how do we get the word out there on this? It amazes me how the left portray the Bush Admin as a totalitarian government, but yet use the media to manipulate outright lies. I am furious over Rather putting lies on the news and then because he controls the news, it never gets out there that he is spouting the lies themselves! I bet it made him crazy to have to admit he screwed up with the photo's. Oh wait, he didn't...
Beverly Cocco, a Philadelphia woman who is "sick to my stomach" that her two sons might be drafted.
One of the proudest days of my life was the day my son enlisted. Now that he is home he is light years ahead of his friends emotionally. God bless our troops God Bless 'em all.
It is time for CBS to have these stories tallied, and submitted to the FEC as COORDINATED COMMUNICATIONS, and asking that they be fined an amount commensurate to what they charge for AD TIME.
Hit 'em? Draft troops to FreeRepublic? The Bible says that the truth from a friend is a kiss on the mouth. This is an army of LOVE!! (Feel the love?)
