Rather Connection to Lead Investigator?
Fox News ^ | 23 Sept 2004 | Brit Hume

Posted on 09/29/2004 12:28:06 AM PDT by maine-iac7

In asking Louis Boccardi (search), the former head of AP, to help lead its investigation into those now discredited documents, CBS was calling on an old friend of Dan Rather (search), who sat with Boccardi at a party honoring his retirement last year and gave a glowing tribute to Boccardi at the event. People who know Boccardi, however, say he will be impartial in conducting the investigation.

Did we miss this - heard any more about it? Indeed, what's that big bump under the rug. Stuff getting swept under? Why is no demanding a Congressional investigation? It's getting crowded under there - move over Sandy Berger

I read that elsewhere, but Rather was very upset to hear Thornburg was also included in the panel.

the story is fast disappearing from the front pageas tho', isn't it. Unlike Watergate that had Congressional hearings - all day for weeks, on TV - and off to jail with a lot of folk. Rather.CBS's memeo-gate was far worse.
If we keep emailing the media - not CBS - and they understand we aren't forgetting it - maybe they'll keep it alive.

Maybe Rather's latest misstep about the draft will keep it alive.

With 15 grandkids, it's bound to happen. Good luck.

A cute story about our 6 year old, greatgrandson, Bo. We were out eating and he looked at the bottle of catsup and said: "Dad, we can't eat the catsup--it's Heinz."

Is this training them right, or what?

I think I figured out the Sandy Burglar thing? Remember Jamie Goerlick (sitting on the 9-11 commission) is the person who shut down Oklahoma City FBI investigation and TWA800 FBI investigation? Sandy Berger was in with Clinton the night of July 17th planning how to spin this thing and Richard Clarke is the one who came up with the phoney center fuel tank explosion and the bomb-sniffing-dog scenarios that Goerlick told Kalstrom to use in shutting down the investigation.

I think Berger confiscated the documents that were seen by Col. Patterson (on Clinton's desk) that evening that showed Clinton has been pouring over them and had the data pointing at a terrorist attack (like so many we'd experienced before this one).

At issue this time was the election and Clinton didn't want anything to interfere with his getting re-elected. Berger owes his career to Clinton and I think would go to the wall to protect him -- and in this case he was protecting: Clinton, Gore, Clark along with Jamie Goerlick since all were co-conspiritors in the cover-up.

I have a friend who saw the TWA 800 explosion. She was with her husband and others. They all claim it was a missile.

But why has the Sandy Burglar crime disappeared off the radar screen?

Glad to see the comments and concerns about this story being forgotten.

I wonder if the lack of coverage issue is related to a fear on the part of the MSM based on a "there by the grace of God go I" mentality even more so then bias.

What MSM wants to set a precendent that bad news, or untrue news, brings crimminal investigations?

On top of all the bad news the rats will have to deal with, the collapse of the power of the msm will make things worse. Nobody will believe the lies of the msm about the rats once again "not being able to get their message out".
george sorenose will have spent all that money and that dog just won't hunt away more ( thanks for that one, clinocchio)
hee hee hee.

No, we didn't miss it. Right off the bat we here at FR knew this but heard Boccardi is highly regarded and fairminded so it was accepted without complaint.

Unlike Rather who reportedly was upset at the inclusion of Thornburgh. Republican you know. In Dan's world we wouldn't be allowed citizenship much less one our number sitting in judgement of him.

You have no idea how long it took Watergate to gain traction, I see.

But why has the Sandy Burglar crime disappeared off the radar screen?

I think our President made a tactical mistake in 2001 when he didn't pull a Clinton and fire everyone at Justice, rehiring all new Bush AG's... add that to the same mistake at CIA and one could say State is long overdue an overhaul.

Not to be critical of POTUS, because he hoped to come to Washington and create a friendlier atmosphere only to get a rude awakening in the real world of Washington Politics vs Texas. I suspect even POTUS-41 could make him believe how things really are in Washington....

I know this is a long-winded round-about, but I think Burglar (and many others) have been protected by too many Clinton hold-overs (left-overs).
