So Burkett says. But how likely is that? Doesn't that attract attention? Why wouldn't he wait until he got home to destroy them in private?
It's BS.
---Why wouldn't he wait until he got home to destroy them in private?---
'cause the pOlice might pull him over on the way and discover the dangerous documents and who knows what...
Is it legal to have an open fire in the city limits....(burn the originals in Kinkos lot).....Maybe he broke another law.
:^D
This isn't directly related to this thread, but regarding this Prof Hailey -
Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't see anything in his CV, publications, or experience that reflect any qualification to do this type of analysis.
To me, this makes it even more absurd that he has a link to this 'analysis' on the UofU IMRL department page:
http://imrl.usu.edu/IMRL/index.htm
The mission and expertise of the IMRL isn't even remotely related to typography or document verification. However, having the 'analysis' hosted on a university server gives it a (faux) appearance of credibility.
Please joing me in writing to the director of the UoU IMRL and/or Dean of English and inquire as to why they are spending public funds doing psuedo-research into subjects that they have no expertise in:
http://english.usu.edu/Document/index.asp?Parent=614
Even if it accomplishes nothing other than to get this tripe removed from the university server it will be worth it. The liberal blogs are full of comments touting this BS as "the most respected analysis of the TANG documents".
We're taking all the care that we can re signature confidentiality.
The letters that carry the signatures are only going as
single copies to: Thorburgh, Boccardi, Heyward, and Lee.
These are stamped with a red box saying "Personal Cover Letter
Not for Distribution or Copying". Depending on the recipient
two to four additional copies will be enclosed
without the signatures and labled on their envelope:
"Copies for distribution and filing". There will be a
card clipped to the personal cover letter with my contact info.
As you well know, we don't have any control over what
happens to their personal copy, but we do know if the
signatures leak, it had to be one of the four. If anyone gets
"leaked" I suspect it will be me. I'm not real happy about that
prospect but that's the way it is.
The www download version will not have the signatures
and, unless you all feel differently, the signature letter
will not be sent to even the signers.
When this gets all done, I intend to remove the signature
document from my computer to guard against hacking. This is
even though I have a firewall and do not act as a server.
The letter packages are going by signed FedEx. Thornburgh's
and Boccardi copies are not going via CBS News but to Thornburgh's office.
(His secretary was very nice on the phone, even called me Sir.
I was impressed with their competence when we discussed
how to send the report.)
If there are any other added security ideas that make sense,
please let me know.
Regards,
Dick
Looks like you've got it covered pretty well, and to tell you the truth, I'm not that concerned about being "outed" anyway.
