Iraq Mom Condemns Kerry "Protest" Vote (Rush)
Rush Limbaugh | Sept. 29, 2004 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 09/30/2004 1:47:35 AM PDT by I still care

Listen to Rush… (...talk to a soldier's mom who finds Kerry's $87b withholding of funds outrageous)

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: All right, Connie, San Antonio, Texas. I'm glad you called. I'm glad you waited. Welcome to the program.

CALLER: Thank you, Rush, for taking my call.

RUSH: You bet.

CALLER: This morning, John Kerry said to (loss of audio) --

RUSH: Ooooh.

CALLER: -- to Diane Sawyer that he voted against the 87 billion as a protest?

RUSH: Yeah, yeah.

CALLER: He --

RUSH: No, protest because... What he's saying now is he's upset that the rich were getting a tax cut while we're spending this, so he thinks that the middle class was paying for it while the rich didn't have to contribute to it, so he's protesting that. That's his latest position.

CALLER: Does he not realize --

RUSH: He's trying to link this to the tax cut. Yes?

CALLER: Does he not realize he just flat-out told every mom -- my son is in Iraq -- he just told me that he would betray my son and throw him to the dogs in a minute if it helped him politically. Does he not realize that's what he said this morning? He voted against it "in protest"? He voted against the bill to keep my son safe, to give him the protective equipment, to give him the equipment he needed to do his job because he was protesting --

RUSH: Yes.

CALLER: -- because just like in the 70s --

RUSH: Yes.

CALLER: -- he was more important than the fellow soldiers, sailors, Marines, and airmen that he betrayed in the seventies, and he'd do it again in a heartbeat.

RUSH: I hear ya, Connie. I think that's an interesting interpretation, too. I think you're right. I'm glad you called. Thank you so much.

This was from the free side of Rush's site, so I figured it was ok to post it here.

This woman was livid. You could hear the anger in her voice. She heard Kerry say he voted against supplying the troops in Iraq as a "protest vote", and drew the correlation that it was EXACTLY what he did in Viet Nam.

In Viet Nam Kerry came home and "protested" the war by pulling the rug out from under our service men still back in Viet Nam, and quite possibly causing some of them to die by emboldening the enemy.

This year Kerry "protested" the Iraq war by trying to pull necessary supplies away from our troops still fighting the war in Iraq.

Once a traitor always a traitor. It's in his blood, his heart, his mind. That people would even consider voting for such a disloyal opportunist disgusts me.

Now that's a Mom. Expects her son to do his duty but will tear apart anyone who puts him needlessly at risk.

John Kerry will say anything and do anything to get power.

He's got to protest every so often, that's just in his nature, kind of like "doing his duty." Every so often he has to attack the USA, that's just a tradition with Kerry. Some people want that sort of President?

Amazing, the idiot was negotiating surrender with North Vietnam, yet he became a Senator??? It will be quite a relief when his campaign meets the same fate as Dan Rather's career.

Yep, I heard Rush yesterday and the lady was livid. Rightly so, Kerry proves time and time again it's not about the troops, nor the country, it's all about Kerry. This guy should be in prison for sedition, subversion and treason. Hopefully the president will destroy him tonight. I'd like to see him shamed, disgraced, obliterated, but he has no shame for he has no soul.

I used to get a care package from her every two or three days in Vietnam. I had every kind of sauce to enhance C rations, and was pretty much the cookie man. She never said a word to me about her feelings, but I know from family friends she aged ten years in those 12 months.

I hope so too. Kerry's irresponsible comments in the last 2 weeks are putting lives in greater danger in Iraq.

"John Kerry will say anything and do anything to get power."

I have no doubt about that either.

What I am encouraged about is that we are starting to see a few articles critical of Kerry in newspapers that are heavy pro-liberal. I don't know what took them so long, but sooner or later they have to report something about him and he hasn't given them anything they can use. He won't talk to the media becuase he can't get any more boxed in than he already has...because then its in his own words and he's proven time and again that THAT is a disaster.

The only thing he has left is to send slimy shysters like Tad Devine and Michael Meehan out to throw smears at President Bush accusing him of doing all the stuff Kerry is doing.

I think the wheels are coming off finally for good. He should have known his pass was only temporary, for the lib papers to see if he could make it. Now I don't think they can even deny that kerry is a POS scumbag.

There are many Republicans that would do the same, including in particular the New England Socialists, i.e., Snowe, Collins, Chaffee, Jeffords!

I heard this call. The woman had it right. Kerry said he voted against funding the military as a PROTEST.

She spoke so eloquently it brought a lump to my throat.

Listing all the weapon systems that Senator Kerry tried his best to shut down sounds like an auctioneer selling off our national security but Americans need to know the facts.

The B-1 bomber, that Senator Kerry opposed, dropped 40% of the bombs in the first six months of Operation Enduring Freedom.

The B-2 bomber, that Senator Kerry opposed, delivered air strikes against the Taliban in Afghanistan and Hussein's command post in Iraq.

The F-14A Tomcats, that Senator Kerry opposed, shot down Khadifi's Libyan MIGs over the Gulf of Sidra. The modernized F-14D, that Senator Kerry opposed, delivered missile strikes against Tora Bora.

The Apache helicopter, that Senator Kerry opposed, took out those Republican Guard tanks in Kuwait in the Gulf War. The F-15 Eagles, that Senator Kerry opposed, flew cover over our Nation's Capital and this very city after 9/11.

I could go on and on and on: Against the Patriot Missile that shot down Saddam Hussein's scud missiles over Israel, Against the Aegis air-defense cruiser, Against the Strategic Defense Initiative, Against the Trident missile, against, against, against.

This is the man who wants to be the Commander in Chief of our U.S. Armed Forces?

U.S. forces armed with what? Spitballs?

Sen. Zell Miller

I heard it too. I would love to have a screenshot of Kerry on Diane's show, caption it with his comment. Then we could take a picture of any of our loved ones serving, and caption it by asking Kerry how dare he "protest" with the life of this soldier.

Would make a great protest sign.

The protester himself made a statement that it would be irresponsible for anyone to vote AGAINST the appropriation.

That he decries the label flip flopper is ludicrous.
