Iran Rejects Kerry Nuclear Proposal

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran on Sunday rejected a proposal by U.S. presidential candidate John Kerry who has suggested supplying the Islamic state with nuclear fuel for power reactors if Tehran agrees to give up its own fuel-making capability. Foreign ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi said it would be "irrational" for Iran to put its nuclear program in jeopardy by relying on supplies from abroad.

"We have the technology (to make nuclear fuel) and there is no need for us to beg from others," Asefi told a weekly news conference.

Washington says Iran plans to use its nuclear facilities to make atom bombs. Tehran says it merely wants to generate electricity from nuclear power.

President Bush wants Iran sent to the United Nations Security Council for possible sanctions over its nuclear program.

But Kerry says he would put Iran's intentions to the test by agreeing to supply it with nuclear fuel for its power reactors provided Tehran stopped efforts to make its own fuel and returned the spent fuel after use.

Iran has rejected repeated efforts by European countries to get it to scrap its nuclear fuel-cycle activities -- activities which could be used to make atomic bombs.

Asefi said Iran could not trust any deal from the West to supply it with reactor fuel.

"What guarantees are there? Will they supply us one day and then, if they want to, stop supplying us on another day?" he said.

And at the same time Kerry said that he would immediately eliminate the program developing the weapon that would penetrate the Iranian bunkers and destroy Iran's nuclear program, the nuclear bunker busting bomb. This is the same man who wanted a nuclear weapon freeze in Europe which would have susposedly froze the the Soviets ahead militarily. Of course, communists lie, they would have continued increasing nuclear weapons anyway. My questions are these: How soon after Kerry is elected do we lose an American city to bilogical, chemical or nuclear attack? how many cities will we lose? which city will be first? will there be a pre-emptive surrender from the Kerry Administration? God please help us all!

As if Iran would have abided by that deal anyway.

Kerry was suggesting essentially the same bone-headed mistake made by Albright and Clintoon with North Korea.

Hell he won't even have to do that, he will just rename our country the "Iranian province of Infidel burial grounds".

This program is a waste of money and rip-off of taxpayers. Even if the sufficiently deep penetrating bomb were possible, the conventional explosives would be superior.

The law of physics cannot be violated, even by the most fierce enthusiasts of nucleal arsenal. Unfortunately the economy and political stability can.

This is supposed to be a surprise?

I'm as "shocked and saddened" by this, as I was when Chirac and Schroeder said that Kerry's election would not change their positions on helping in Iraq.

What I want to hear is what Koisumi (sp) Putin and the others have to say about Kerry's plan to cut them out of the Korean talks. Think they are overjoyed at what he had to say in the debate?
