Don't you need tickets to get within screaming distance? I understood that only Democratic Committee offices even have these. Sounded like a totally staged, controlled event (which doesn't surprise me, of course).
Clarification, anyone?

"North Carolina A&T University will host a welcome home rally with John and Elizabeth Edwards on the parade grounds across from the Dudley Memorial Building at 7:00pm.
The event is open to the public. But tickets are required. You can pick up free tickets at the Democratic party headquarters in your county beginning Monday morning."
Yep. You got to go to the Dems to get tix. But, it's like the Firesign Theatre said: it's free, only a dollar. The public are invited, so long as they get a ticket from the Democratic Party.
I need an aspirin to keep up with this.

Yes, you will need to tickets to get near the event, which are available at the local Democrat HQ, but most are already gone. However, as with the Kerry appearance/FReep in Gsbo last month, you may be able to assemble on a public sidewalk near the venue.

Taking a buffered aspirin as we speak - it does give one a headache, doesn't it.
We have a grand history here of Freeping Veep Candidates....fond memories of 2000 float in one's head....

How about a sign pointing out Edwards' blunder last night about taxes?
He said millionaires pay less in tax than the guys on the ground in Iraq.
Fact: if you're miltary in a combat zone (pretty much the entire Persian Gulf)
You pay NO INCOME TAX.
Combat Zone Exclusions [Edwards: mil on in Iraq pay income tax. this guy represents the 82nd?], page from the DoD: "exclusion is unlimited for enlisted members and warrant officers and is limited to $6315.90 per month in 2004, for officers. If you spend a single qualifying day in the combat zone, your pay for the entire month is excluded from taxable income."
Edwards doesn't know it and neither do his advisors.
If you spend ONE DAY in the combat zone, your ENTIRE MONTH'S PAY IS TAX FREE.
What a complete maroon.

That's probably because Edwards did not spend one day in the military and is totally ignorant to these facts (like most Democrats). Good points.

Correct: he had 2-S student deferments during Viet Nam.
North Carolina's Senator?
Senator for Fort Bragg, Pope AFB, Johnson AFB, MCB Lejeune, MCAS Cherry Point, MCAS New River ... ? Guess he doesn't have constituents in those places.
Not only Edwards is an idiot, but his advisors are as well.
