The buggy whip media is not amused.
I did, and my 19 year old watched it and saw for himself :)
I don't know, I missed the vote and the House hasn't posted the roll call yet.........
Tomorrow's newspaper stories...
House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (Republican-Texas) today made the following remarks on the proposed military draft:
. . . [insert some out of context word bite that appears like Delay actually FAVORS the idea]
What's going on there in Washington? Did Zell shame the Republicans into growing cajones?
Well one of them, Sheila Jackson-Lee, made a complete ass of herself by insisting that HER piece of legislation was all a part of Bush's plan to reinstate the draft.
Her attempt at misdirection from the real culprits failed.
No wonder the dims hate him. DeLay made us proud to be Republicans. Just wish they would be this verbal more often. Oh well, not to complain. I'm happy.
"Sometimes, a bill is the result of hard-nosed political wrangling, and a party-line vote pushes a controversial measure over the finish line. And sometimes - on rare occasions like today - a bill is considered on the floor of the House as a practical exercise ... to expose a fraud.
The House website says the bill is "Unfinished Business." Does that mean they have to come back to it?
And I thought it was lonely being a Bush-Cheney supporter in California. Welcome to FR from another relative newbie in FR.
Say goodby to more viewers MSM.
>>....John Kerry's proposed unpaid MANDATORY PUBLIC SERVICE for high school graduation.
I had NOT heard that one... Good debate material !
(except Kerry's idea of mandatory public service would include
helping someone campaign for public office)
Because something like 90% of the reporters are registered Democrats & vote liberal. And that's why places like Free Republic exist...to deconstruct the spin, bias by omission & outright lies from the liberal politicians and, as Rush Limbaugh puts it, ''their willing accomplices in the press''.
House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (Republican-Texas) today made the following remarks on the proposed military draft:
"...there is a secret Republican plan to reinstitute the military draft."
Or failing that, an editor would write a headline that reads:
Delay Addresses The Issue Of The Republican's Secret Draft Plan
The rumor of a secret plan has been spoken of by the main stream media...it is however, MOST prevalent on college campuses, and is intended to get younger voters, who usually do not bother to vote, to vote out of fear of being drafted if they do not.....
John Kerry himself, a couple of weeks ago mentioned this "secret plan".....just like he said a few months ago he said there was a "secret agreement" between Saudi Arabia and Bush to keep oil prices DOWN until after the election....oil prices have gone UP.
Finally...and what a smooth way of handling this DRAFT LY.
Go Delay go. Should have said this a month ago though.
