Cheney would make a great President. I wish he'd run in 2008. Since he won't, Bill Owens will do.

WHY ISN'T CHENEY PRESIDENT?

Gee, I dunno, that's a toughie. Maybe because Bush won the GOP primaries, the GOP nomination and then the general election in 2000?

He's not going to run in 2008 and its a shame. He's the strongest Repub we have out there besides Bush. Noone really appeals to me for 2008 yet. I refuse to vote for Frist whom the Repubs are going to back in 2008. These Senators and Governors are just not strong enough for me. I hope someone new steps up to the plate. We need fresh meat!

A couple of notes about Cheney.

A very, very, very liberal friend of mine said this morning, and meaning it, "Why can't Kerry be President and Cheney Vice President?" Believe me, from someone like that, that is the highest of compliments.

Second, I just saw a report on CNN from the respective Cheney and Edwards camps. The Cheney camp is stoked, apparently Cheney stayed up late "partying," whatever that means regarding Cheney. The Edwards reporter said that people in the Edwards campaign are saying their man won, but "there isn't the same level of enthusiasm as there was after last week's Presidential debate." You know what that means.

Awesome performance by the Vice President last night.

We ARE in a national emergency. John Kerry MUST lose.

Vote like it is an emergency. Win other voters for Bush like it is an emergency.

The country is about to burn down and we must put the fire out. If we don't, everything will be destroyed.

The people GWB surrounds himself with is a reflection of his judgment. Compare to Clinton's appointments-also a reflection of his judgment (Madeline Albright?)

Put Rudy's name in the pot as well. I think he'll play better to conservatives than would seem at first blush (he was mayor of New York after all.

McCain will continue to be the media's darling, but since when does Dan Rather vote in GOP primaries?

The hospital argument is just a non-argument. It's not happening (maybe rarely, but I've not heard of any cases). Heck, my brother was in ICU in a Catholic hospital, in a coma, and he had a wife AND a girlfriend. The hospital just gave them different visiting times. That wasn't technically the rules, but they were more than willing to accomodate. It's a fake problem.

The funeral issue may or may not be the case. But it depends pretty much entirely on the extended family. It would be the same situation if the couple was your normal male/female variety. If they get along with the fam, then they are included in the funeral plans. Etc. Regarding inheritance, you can make a will and leave your stuff to anyone you want. It doesn't automatically go to your live in sex partner. But that doesn't mean they cannot make legal arrangements already. If there are children involved, the inheritance rights would stand as normal for them.

We do not owe all sex partners public benefits. Normal marriage is recognized as a vital building block of society for the continuation of humanity. Even persons who like gay sex have only one mother and one father. Protecting mother/father, male/female marriages benefits homosexuals too.

Here's what Cheney himself said yesterday evening:

When George Bush asked me to sign on, it obviously wasn't because he was worried about carrying Wyoming. We got 70 percent of the vote in Wyoming, although those three electoral votes turned out to be pretty important last time around.

What he said he wanted me to do was to sign on because of my experience to be a member of the team, to help him govern, and that's exactly the way he's used me.

And I think from the perspective of the nation, it's worked in our relationship, in this administration. I think it's worked in part because I made it clear that I don't have any further political aspirations myself. And I think that's been an advantage.

I looked at Edwards last night and was in total fear. What would happen if that man WAS President?

He is probably not the Presidential type, but he's a great backup for Pres. Bush. He just doesn't have the charisma to be a leader. In another era he sure could have been the top contender though...before television made superficial qualities matter more than they should. He is quite brilliant and experienced and articulate.

Personally, I think Cheney would make a great President, but honestly, I don't think he really wants the job. He's not a glory hound; he's content with the role he has.

I am so sick of the same old lying arguments that gays project about
"not being able to visit their partner in the hospital"
Not being able to be involved in a funeral"
not being able to inherit"
BOGUS BOGUS BOGUS

I am SINGLE--DIVORCED--with 3 siblings. No children, but they would be beyond the age of maturity if I did.

I have a new idea for these freaks--- WRITE A WILL!!!

I can leave all my assets or spread them out as I CHOOSE!!!
I have done so in my will. I have horses, individually, going 6 different directions. My ranch, truck, car, 2 horse trailer, 4 horse trailer, saddles, misc tack, furniture, clothing and jewelry all going a number of directions. ALL bequests have a back-up beneficiary if someone dies and I don't alter the will. THIS ISN'T BRAIN SURGERY!!!!!! Just write a will....GEEEEZZZ!!(BTW- I have sent a sealed envelope to each and every beneficiary named in my will for them to have and hold until I die. That way when they open it, they know they are involved, and cannot be "overlooked".)

Here's more: I can go to the hospital for any number of reasons. I can tell the hospital staff who I want to have let in- even if I am in ICU. There are no restrictions about "gay" people not being allowed to visit someone in a hospital. If the patient is in bad shape and AIDS or something similar is involved, then I can see that they might restrict attendence by other ill people, but they would restrict straight people who are ill from further compromising a really ill AIDS patient. I ride with a nurse and a neighbor is a nurse. Both of them say their hospital lets anyone visit a patient, unless there is a real problem with exposure to other illnesses. BOGUS crap on the part of the gays.

Plan a funeral? Alot of families have cut off a gay person out of the family out of shame and not being willing to "understand". That usually leaves JUST the gay partner to handle funeral arrangements. BOGUS crap.

What the gays and other freaks really want is all the BENEFITS that EMPLOYERS give to their staff. This insistence will lead to an end of all benefits to all employees, straight, gay, bi, whatever..... If only 7% of the population is gay, why are they the determining force in making benefit decisions for employers.???
