THE CONTRAST could not be clearer.
One side proposed a war and waged it. Yes, President Bush has been slow to correct mistakes made in the course of the war -- not that Vice President Dick Cheney would admit as much in Tuesday's debate in Ohio. Still, the administration has shown the resolve to win the war in Iraq and the war on terrorism. Cheney was right to assert that voters should know that re-electing this ticket is the only way they can be sure America won't cut and run.
The other side voted to authorize the war, then was quick to pounce on every mistake or shortcoming in the war effort -- even shortcomings Sens. John Kerry and John Edwards cannot possibly overcome.
Take the Kerry/Edwards claim that the U.S.-led coalition in Iraq is not a legitimate coalition. Moderator Gwen Ifill asked Edwards how Kerry could bring more countries into the coalition. Edwards said a Kerry administration would have more "credibility," as if that would bring troops to Iraq. Yeah, sure.

The Democrats sent the pet dog out to fight an alligator and not surprisingly, the alligator won.

He's not all that young. He was born in '53, making him 7 years younger than Bush, who is three years younger than Lurch, who in turn is only 2 years younger than Cheney. Thus he's only 12 years younger than the "old man" Cheney (who was born in the same city that I was, but 9 years earlier.) My only brother is 3 years younger than Edwards.
So we are left with, "He smiled alot" although "he grimaced alot" might be more accurate. :)
