Those who support ordaining gays contend Scripture does not ban same-sex relationships, and that there was no understanding in Biblical times that homosexuality was a natural orientation, not a choice.

The opposite is true. In Biblical times they were well aware that behavior, including homosexuality, was a choice that people were responsible for.

In every age G-d has known what homosexuality is, and He has never waivered.

I seem to recall a Biblical precident for people thinking they had a clearer concept of right and wrong than G-d did with some negative results.

Oh, yeah. They were thrown out of Paradise.

Yep, they don't call it "sodomy" for nothing.

People that claim that the Bible has little or nothing to say about homosexuality have probably read little or nothing of the Bible.
