I hope they do it. Yell and scream all they want. It just makes them look bad.I just hope the Bush side does not reciprocate.
I even believe that if it does happen and heckling begins or questions are shouted out, that the momment it is calm and quiet again, Bush should go with it. He should even ask that they be allowed to ask a question calmly, or even make a charge. If it's resonable he can answer it.If it's unreasonable or just a rant he can dismiss it and make the group seem foolish. I think it's a winner.
I have often wondered why a candidate doesn't do it. And, yes, it might get sticky, but any question can be spun. The spinning doesn't matter. What would get noticed is the bravery in allowing the group to speak.
and Cheney's multiple slip up's at the debate...
what one's?
the meeting thing? that was an emphasis statement to his delineation of the Senator's track record, so they had met briefly before woohoo there was still no comeback (even in the MSM about the attendance record)
the 9/11 -Iraq thing? the tape that was shown has been displayed in full and shows him not linking the two. just because talking head defecrats say it does not mean it is so
any others?
Because the Radical Rightists are out burning black churches, intimidating minorities and polluting the environment. We do not have time to go to debates
-
you forgot disenfranchising minority voters!
And when it does, Terry McAwful will claim that these were actually Republican infiltrators trying to make Democrats look bad.
Count on it.
I know you might find it minor but along with those the factcheck.com and factcheck.org was a huge mistake in principle.
Well, it IS a lot of work keeping those sheets clean.
swing voter=stupid
dead on. like Bush said you are either with us or against us. goes for voters too. so this is absolutely a set-up and he will get stupid questions from stupid people. how could you not have made up your mind by now if you know the issues?
its because you don't care enough about your country and you're birthright bought with blood to care enough to save it.
Think 1992.
Funny Charlie Gibson does not meet the this criteria, nor and of the other debate moderator, nor 99% of the MSM.... so bottom same old stuff
Lol, but you have to understand that before the Times or the DNC decide how to spin the debate, they have to semi-objectively evaluate how the actual debate went: 1) if the consensus of public/media opinion is that Kerry made an ass of himself, then the debate went to Mr. Bush on "style points", "no telling blows" were struck, and the game is tied 1-1. 2) If Mr. Bush redeems himself from his stylistic gaffes of the first debate, while Kerry does not come across as well in the "Town Hall" format, then the debate was "a tie", and Mr. Bush will have failed to regain the momentum he lost in the first debate. 3)If both the President and Kerry have stellar turns at the "Town Hall", then Kerry will have scored a "marginal victory" by virtue of the the fact that the famously un-"warm and fuzzy" Senator will have matched the President in "connecting" with people, and 4)If Mr. Gibson does his job in selecting the appropriate softballs for Kerry, and in finding the correct mix of spitballs, mudballs and paintballs for the President, then Kerry will be declared winner of the election by acclamation (aided and abetted by "no spinners" like O'Reilly and Scarborough), the Soros Democrats will seize control of all polling stations and Republican/Bush campaign headquarters, and we will all moveon.org into a brighter tomorrow.
Good - let 'em do it. It's be a great moment for Bush to bring up the DNC thuggery and vandalism at GOP HQ's.
Oh yeah, that's going to happen..
This tactic will backfire, guaranteed.
You must be thinking of the long haired guy in the Richmond debate.
He asked a pathetic question, but he wasn't disruptive. He did not make an ass out of himself.
I don't think the angry left has it in them to be polite. They will be disruptive.
I hope you are right.
LOL...you're right of course. That lying weasel has no principles or honor...he only values power.
As Dick Cheney said, if Kedwards couldn't stand up to Howard Dean, how can they stand up to al-Qaida? If Bush can't stand up to a few loaded questions, he doesn't deserve to hold national office.
"If the lefties make asses out of themselves, it will backfire. Think Chicago, 1968.
Think 1992."
