Probably because they got chewed out by the police department, the fire department threatened to fine them for obstructing the fire hydrant, the pulic works department was ticked off because the thick ice covered the road and it was not usable for several days, the neighborhood kids (including me) had to walk half a mile down the road to catch the bus in the meantime...

I deserved it, certainly, but it was well worth the butt-whoopin...
