subject: Dem car taken out by Bush sign
Got a cheerful start to my day this morning. My son called, said that someone tried to take out his Bush sign, going offroad a bit to destroy his Bush sign.
Problem? Son didn't notice, but he had put the sign by a yellow painted iron pipe placed by some county agency, marking a gas line.
The dem car----pushed the heavy yellow pipe all the way over.
Cost of one Bush sign?---priceless, the dem car with the now yellow and crushed front bumper. Ha, served them right.
He did say he's moving the other sign away from his mailbox. And putting the remaining sign by the pipe again.

If I got into punkin chuckin (and yes I've thought about it) I'd go centrifugal. A - the competition is thinner, B - the competition is crazier and would be more fun to drink with after the games, C - those machines are just freaking COOL.
I did the same thing years ago. Built a welded I-beam frame and boxed it in with 1x4's. I buried it in 2 feet of concrete. A car tried to run it over and it ripped the side out of the car. Pieces strewn down the road for 50 feet. Never had another problem.
Any info? - I can't find much on google.
The most common caltrop is a four-pointed thingy designed in such a way that one spike always points up, regardless how the thing lands.
I found the site:

In all the other stuff here are some shots of Bad to the Bone, habitual winner of the Centrifuge competition;

The last one is an action photo. When contemplating a centrifuge machine think of it as a catapult that seeks momentum. Basically they spin that arm around and around REALLY fast (on a good chuck that HUGE arm is just a blur) then let the pumpkin go. What's cool is the sound it make (like a BIG propeller kind of) and watching the whole vehicle vibrate with the force, and the fact that it applies WAY too much energy to accomplish the task at hand (I believe in inefficiency in hobbies).
thank you. How do you properly release?
I have no photos. I dont know exactly where this was.
LOL
Not sure, I think there's a plate to keep the pumpkin from flying off the end that gets removed when you decide to fire, that's how I'd do it anyway.
SUV??? Mind of their own.
An outfit called "Firequest" on-line at http://www.firquest.com sell caltrops in two sizes. The smaller size look like they are intended for "antipersonnel" use and are $29.99/25 (HV210). The larger size is fabricated out of tubing and angle cut (like a hypo needle) to insure a rapid loss of tire pressure. They are $29.99/10 (HV225). Their phone number is 1-870-881-8688.
It's probably illegal to "mantrap" your own property, why not just "carelessly" leave an old board with some thru nails "accidentally" in the likely path of an errant auto? It makes for quicker cleanup before mowing!

Well you could just as easily carelessly leave your caltrops out.
LOL... but why would your parents beat you up for that??? :-)
Probably because they got chewed out by the police department, the fire department threatened to fine them for obstructing the fire hydrant, the pulic works department was ticked off because the thick ice covered the road and it was not usable for several days, the neighborhood kids (including me) had to walk half a mile down the road to catch the bus in the meantime...
I deserved it, certainly, but it was well worth the butt-whoopin...
But on the bright side, you had your own little ice skating rink right outside your front door. :-)
Too cool!!!
I try not to use this word often, but that is ... AWESOME !!!!
Well... that would do it... :o)
True, but it was a hill, kinda, with a bridge about 50 feet down the road, which, one time during spring runoff season I accidently blocked the culvert with a large piece of plywood right before the school bus came, and when we got back up there after school the bus had to be diverted about 6 miles around because all of the water was flowing over the bridge and they (Public Works and a county diver) were busy trying to unplug the thing. Oops.
