Australian Election
vanity | 9th October 2004 | naturalman1975

Posted on 10/09/2004 12:47:55 AM PDT by naturalman1975

I hesitate to suggest this, as I am fairly new around here, but I have noticed that there is quite a lot of interest in the Australian eleciton, so I thought I would make an offer here. I will be watching the election coverage and if people are interested, as the coverage proceeds, I can post updates in this thread, so people can follow what is happening in Australia.

Just an offer. Coverage starts in 15 minutes.

Oh and if any other Aussies want to post updates as well, of course, I wouldn't object. It's just I can see interest.

I don't know how much longer I could last here on the East Coast (almost 4 AM Eastern), but I would love to hear the results down under.

Great. Does Australia do exit poll projections upon poll closing?

18 hour time difference from L.A. We'll know soon enough the results of the general election. Let's hope it doesn't end up like Spain's and Canuckistan's earlier this year.

I think FR would appreciate it! And if you ever are in Las Vegas, I'll treat you to a drink in honor of your great service!

Keep the faith!

Canuckistan was soooo close... The Spainyards turned into a bunch of wusses. I hope the Aussies keep the faith tonight.

Yes, exit polling is done here - not sure how reliable it will be though

I'm definately interested on how the results come out. And I'm praying that nothing goes wrong over there. The Aussies have been great friends and allies and we are grateful to have you standing with us!

How about we make this a live thread?

I'll be back in 2 hours to help. Only problem is that where I've got internet access I haven't got TV access so I'll be trolling a few websites for the latest.

Three more years!

The Sydney Morning Herald was predicting a Howard landslide on Friday, one day before the election.

Can we make this a live thread and throw it in either breaking news or front page news. This election will have a direct impact on Bush's and the WOT.

Do we have any websites that will be covering the results that you can link us to?
