Podhoretz initially called the first debate for President Bush. And then after reading the polls and 'getting the general feel of what happened' Podhoretz reversed and said Kerry really won. The archives at the NY Post are down right now for maintenance but I will link the article tomorrow.

The disturbing thing is that there were members of the media who did feel Bush won the first debate (David Gregory for one, Podhoretz is another example.) But then they talk to their colleagues and all of a sudden they're all like lemmings off a cliff.

When Kerry said his “plan” included tort reform, Bush hit back: “He said he’s for — you’re now for capping punitive damages? That’s odd. You should have shown up on the floor in the Senate and voted for it then. Medical liability issues are a problem, a significant problem. He’s been in the United States Senate for 20 years and he hasn’t addressed it. We passed it out of the House of Representatives. Guess where it’s stuck? It’s stuck in the Senate, because the trial lawyers won’t act on it. And he put a trial lawyer on the ticket.” Twice Bush said, “You can run, but you can’t hide.”

BAM! Bush has just won this election.

Its telling when John F*ckin' pretends to be Ronald Reagan. I can only imagine the mood over at DU. They don't like this. Tell me if its still a 50-50 country when the Democrat tries hard to avoid being tagged a "liberal."

The era of the flip-flop attack is over. The argument against Kerry’s liberalism has begun in earnest.

About freakin' time. Bring. It. ON!!!!

The last question to the President to name 3 things he made a mistake on and what he did to correct them was an obvious effort by Gibson to give Kerry an opening to slam the president. It was a deliberate move and ABC should be called on it.

The problem for Kerry is that he missed the opportunity and then George W. Bush put him away with his closing remarks.

This was a big win for Dubya tonight

"The era of the flip-flop attack is over. The argument against Kerry’s liberalism has begun in earnest."

I like how Bush has moved on in his descriptions of Kerry, progressing from flip-flopper to liberal, which I think he can hammer home the way his dad did against Dukakis. We haven't heard the L word in this campaign much, so it hasn't been overused, but Bush can paint it on Kerry, who will run from it and all the weeniness it implies.

It'd be finny if Kerry replied in the next debate "Well, YOU're a CONSERVATIVE!" and W said something like, "No kidding. Unlike you I'm not afraid of what I am."

Kerry'll be applying for a new Purple Heart if this keeps up. Probably ask for a "V" to be added to it.

"(yes, he said “Internets”)"

Where did JOHN PODHORETZ ever get the idea there was only one internet? What a silly quibble.

Yet STILL no one asked Kerry about the L word--- Why did you LIE about your service in Vietnam, and why did you stab your mates in the back? I can hardly believe that he is going to get by without being held accountable for this for another 20 years perhaps. Why does everyone, including Bush and Cheney, give him a pass on this issue? I don't get it.

The Swiftees are the only ones man enough to confront him.

Kerry isn't too happy about labels. But if the shoe fits... Well let's just face it. He's a freaking die-hard liberal and everybody knows it.

"Labels don’t mean anything.”......

The word LIBERAL scares the crap out of John Kerry. He instantly with vigor jumped on the innocent inclusion of the word in a sentence.

Bush et al must begin to include the word in every section of every speech. Liberalism is pervasive and the many aspscts need to be descrbed as such. Antiwar. pro government healthcare, pro trial lawyers, pro abortion, increased taxes,...... all are liberal and must be described as such.

Kerry had a look of fear when labeled a liberal.

This morning Fox News replayed the Chris Matthews post-debate interview with hildabeast. He said something like, "During the debate, President Bush accused Senator Kerry of being even more liberal than you, Senator Clinton. What do you say to that?"

She let loose with this shrill laugh that could only be called insane. Very chilling...

Kerry can run but he can't hide!

The MSM has yet to ask him about his record; and you can't tell me that know one in the audience submitted a question asking about it. Three debates and a large number of press conferences and not one question as of this morning!?

We are seeing the MSM circle their wagons to protect Kerry; I pray the President continues to point out his record - it can only help.
