Petition To Kerry: Bring jobs back to the U.S.A.

Dear Kerry,

I am writing to you to ask you to bring back the plants that your wife has located in countries outside of the United States. I find it hypocritical that you do not like off shore companies and your claiming that the Bush administration is sending jobs abroad. Well, it seems that the Heinz Corporation, owned by your wife, has 79 plants where it manufacturers products, and 57 of the 79 are located in countries outside of the U.S. How many U.S. jobs are lost here?

Check it out for yourself, it is all public information.

Factories located at: Taipei, Taiwan (makes Heinz baby foods), Dublin, Ireland; Paris, France; Dovarmenez, France; Lisbon, Portugal; Madrid, Spain; Milan, Italy; Monguzzo, Italy; Athens, Greece; Warsaw, Poland; Pudliszki, Poland; Wodzislaw, Poland; Miedzychod, Poland; Moscow, Russia; Georgievisk, Russia; Cairo, Egypt; Tel Aviv, Isreal; Haifa, Israel; Elst, The Netherlands and 6 other plants there; Brussels, Belgium; Dusseldorf, Germany; Seesen, Germany; Turnhout, Belgium; Rovereto, Italy; Chateaurenand, France; North York, Ontario, Canada; Wheatley, Ontario, Canada; Caracas, Venezuela; San Jose, Costa Rica; Johannesburg, South Africa; Gaborone, Botswana; Harare, Zimbabwe; Cheguta, Zimbabwe; Wellington, South Africa; Melbourne, Victoria, Australia; Republic of Singapore; Auckland, New Zealand; Tokyo, Japan;

Guangzhov, People's Republic of China (makes infant cereal); Qingdao, People's Republic of China (makes infant foods, ketchup, mayonnaise &puree); Inchon, South Korea (makes Heinz products and StarKist); Bangkok, Thailand; Mumbai, India; Jakarta, Indonesia; Surabaya, Indonesia; Manila, Philippines; Wanchai, Hong Kong. Also recently purchased from Bordens these products: Classico Pasta Sauce; Aunt Millies Pasta Sauce; Mrs. Grass Receipt Soups; Wylers Bouillons &Soups.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]

IMHO, it will never happen under any radical socialist like Kerry. HE WILL INCREASE TAXATION ON THOSE THAT CREATE THE JOBS IN THIS COUNTRY. The upper income brackets and the corporations are the chief funders of businesses and investment in businesses. THEY ARE KERRY'S TAX TARGET -- THOSE THAT ACTUALLY PAY THE TAXES IN THIS COUNTRY.

Kerry will be very bad news for the U.S. economy. Socialists do not care about the coutry or its economy. They care about their own power and control. The serfs and unwashed voters are just a means to an end.

This is a totally ridiculous post. It's nonsense. It's not factual.

He's already in the USA and doing great work as CEO of Apple and Pixar. The iPod was true genius and the G5 Mac line is full of technological wonders.

This information is false
Neither Teresa Heinz Kerry or any Foundation of hers
have any great control over Heinz.

see

There are still plenty of reasons to dislike Kerry/Edwards

While I hesitate to ever support the Heinz Corp - people need to see this from a slightly different light.

A company who wants to market it's product in another country can make better profits by actually producing the product in that country. That eliminates all transportation costs to take the product overseas, because the product is already local. It's produced by locals and distributed by locals in-country. It's actually a much more logical operation. A lot of companies do this - and still maintain the main operation in the USA.

And .. while Heinz was doing that .. THERE WAS NO DISSOLUTION OF AMERICAN PLANTS (that I know of). The same products are produced right here in the USA.

Some of you will not like what I said, that's okay. A corporation is in business TO MAKE A PROFIT. If some of the organizations of Heinz are manufacturing the product offshore and then bringing it back into the USA - that part of their process I don't like (but I still understand why they do it) .. and the corporation is just trying to survive like other corporations, when the govt imposes taxes, fees, and also overregulates - most corporations have fewer choices.

I find it ironic that the dems have proposed and voted for the additional taxes, fees and regulations which have CAUSED MOST OF THE OFF-SHORE business and then try to blame it on Bush. Like the question asked of Kerry .. "if you own a business and you can hire an employee for $12 overseas or $56 in the USA ..." - logically, as a business owner, why wouldn't you choose the $12 employee - which would mean you could hire even more employees for the same amount of money.

The key is .. don't confuse off-shoring with the act of actually producing a product in a foreign country. They are not the same thing.
