"They Better Hope We Don't Win" - Kerry Campaign Threat to Sinclair Broadcasting
Dayside - FNC

Posted on 10/12/2004 10:19:45 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Linda Vester is currentlly interviewing Chad Clanton, described as a 'senior Kerry campaign advisor.'

Discussing the plans of the Sinclair broadcasting group to air "Stolen Honor," the documentary about Kerry's Vietnam war service, Clanton stated:

"They [Sinclair] better hope that we're not elected."

Vester immediately asked if that was intended as a threat to Sinclair that a Kerry administration would not renew their broadcast licenses. Clanton tried to back off, but the threat was unmistakable.

These people are thugs.

Kerry ain't going to win, and the polls are BS.

Still, it does make it all exciting. In way it is like watching a horror movie. You know that the monster will croak in the end but it is still a scary experience.

I put this show on thanks to your post. What is up with the woman in the audience grabbing Linda's hand and speaking up and Linda threatening to boot her. What's the "AT&T memo"?

Sorry I missed Chad and his threat but glad you informed us.

Always remember that the former POW's have us at FreeRepublic for support and to honor their service, together with many millions in this country who are not brainwashed and vicious as the overage unwashed hippie types are.

We honor the service of our military then, now and always and the courage of our President.

These facts drive liberals crazy!! Good.

That Clanton character is vile and nasty.

First time I'd ever seen him. He is the absolute worst. An arrogant, nasty little piece of work.

WHO IS Commissioner Michael J. Copps ??

“Today the Federal Communications Commission empowers America’s new media elite with unacceptable levels of influence over the ideas and information upon which our society and our democracy so heavily depend… The decision we five make today will recast our entire media landscape for years to come…At issue is whether a few corporations will be ceded enhanced gatekeeper control over the civil dialogue of our country; more content control over our music, entertainment and information; and veto power over the majority of what our families watch, hear and read.”1 This statement was made by Federal Communications Commissioner Michael J. Copps before the five-person Federal Communications Commission (FCC) voted for sweeping changes in media rules on June 2, 2003. These controversial new rules, passed by a vote of 3 to 2 along party lines, are bound to change the media landscape by allowing already large media companies greater control over “public” airwaves. Neil Hickey of Columbia University’s Columbia Journalism Review provided an example of how big companies will get under the new FCC rules. He stated, “AOL Time Warner, the world’s biggest media company—which up until now had been prevented from owning TV stations in cities where it also owns cable systems—could go out and buy NBC, which owns a string of TV stations in major cities. In the deal, it would also pick up MSNBC and CNBC. That would make AOL Time Warner—already the world’s largest media company—more gargantuan than it already is…”2 As the public and media critics argue that these rules will hurt diversity in the media, diminish localism and allow corporations to grow even more, Congress is expected to overturn the FCC’s decision.

I was wondering the same thing. It looks like she is in the audience just to speak up with the current guest.

Unfortunately I missed that, other than Linda's threat to have the person removed. Hopefully someone else can elucidate.

Mr. Copps is indeed a 'Rat

From 11/25/02 AdAge....

FCC 'indecency' review sought after CBS show

(washington) Federal Communications Commissioner Michael J. Copps, speaking after last week's telecast on Viacom's CBS of ''The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show,'' called for a broader federal standard for indecency in TV and radio programming. Mr. Copps, a Democrat, said ''of the nearly 500 indecency complaints received (by FCC) in the last year, only a tiny number have resulted in any action. Our definition must better protect kids against indecent material.''

LOL! Linda Vester is tops!! She had a woman in the audience who grabbed Vester's hand -- the one holding the microphone, as Vester was turning away. Twice --Vester told her to let go of her hand!! Very tersely! Then when Vester was back with the guest, that woman kept making comments. Vester told her that if she didn't stop speaking out ----she would be removed!! LOL! Big hand from the rest of the audience.

I know Veater is a sharp cookie --- but no one messes with her! GOOD!

So, if you were watching Dayside today (and yesterday) - who is that white hair lady who grabbed the microphone and what has she been on a rant about?

the RNC strategist that i want to see again is Chris Horner. I saw him on a fair amount back at the end of July and he was incredibly effective against some of the worst DNC slime. i think he took on Julian Epstein, is that the other smarmy nasty one? i LOVED the Horner guy, he was so good. i really hate when the RNC type they are up against isn't effective enough at combatting their crap.

the Clanton character has been on H&C and was incredibly nasty to Sean, i want to personally thrash his butt.

FCC COMMISSIONER STATEMENT ON SINCLAIR AIRING OF ANTI-KERRY SHOW Tue Oct 12 2004 13:39:02 ET FCC COMMISSIONER COPPS CRITICIZES SINCLAIR CORPORATE DECISION TO PREEMPT LOCAL STATIONS FOR POLITICAL BROADCAST

Yet Copps remains strangely silent while the ABC/NBC/CBS air their evening propoganda shows, preempting local stations with their biased leftist swill.
