"They Better Hope We Don't Win" - Kerry Campaign Threat to Sinclair Broadcasting
Dayside - FNC

Posted on 10/12/2004 10:19:45 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Linda Vester is currentlly interviewing Chad Clanton, described as a 'senior Kerry campaign advisor.'

Discussing the plans of the Sinclair broadcasting group to air "Stolen Honor," the documentary about Kerry's Vietnam war service, Clanton stated:

"They [Sinclair] better hope that we're not elected."

Vester immediately asked if that was intended as a threat to Sinclair that a Kerry administration would not renew their broadcast licenses. Clanton tried to back off, but the threat was unmistakable.

These people are thugs.

I hope they're not elected, too. Because if they are, CWII is just around the corner.

I think he stopped short of saying "jackboot." He said folks were mad, jackballed up...and a moment later he said "It makes me so mad I want to throw my boot through the TV."
We're seeing the evil flowering of Jackboot Liberalism. You can already look up the term in Google, it's been around. It's the bared teeth, the ham-fisted thuggery that vandalizes campaign headquarters, rips up BC04 signs and assaults Republicans who get in the way.

"I can't even think of anything to say. This is so bold and shocking."

I quite agree.

The right believes in free speech even if it's contemptible. The left believes in the marxist principle of destroying the bourgeois by using their own laws against them. They believe in victory at any cost.

I believe it is the fact that we have been sold this notion of unlimited rights to free speech and many other unlimited 'rights' with no responsibilities, and this is what has led us to the dire situation in which we find ourselves.

But what can we do? We are divided and conquered. We can't change enough of the government officials to make a difference and when we do they turn out to be tainted by the rats anyway. And then there's the little problem that we believe in the rule of law and they believe in the rule of whatever they can get away with.

We're screwed.

Could someone please explain to me how this is any different than 60 Minutes "featuring" every anti-Bush book that's been published this year?

"We're screwed."

If we simply roll over, we sure will be. But I like to think there are a lot of Americans with more mettle than that. This country is on the cusp of a conflict, a potentially explosve conflict, whether it realizes it or not. The Dims are showing their true colors, and are emulating their soul mates, the fascists and the marxists (some think those two ideologies are mutually exclusive; however, they are really twin sons of different mothers: But their father is the same).

If Kerry is elected, he will be healing all the people currently in wheelchairs and making them walk again, and he will be filling all the empty wheelchairs with his political enemies?

That's recycling.

Remember, he's the environment-friendly candidate. < /sarcasm>

Newsmax has now picked up the story:

Glad this is getting out there, way to go NewsMax -- yet there's a problem with one of their quotes, we all need to be very careful here. The News Max page has the quote "I'm not a lawyer, but they've stirred up a lot of hatred," etc.

As despicable as Clanton's comments were, he did not use the word "hatred" there. It was sort of muffled by the audience booing, but I double-checked and stand by my transcript in #305 above: he said "they've stirred up a lot of people." If you were just working off an audio clip it's a VERY easy mistake to mis-hear, it does indeed kind of sound like "hatred," but I have the video and the benefit of seeing him say it. It's definitely "people."

I was VERY careful in my transcription, and plan to do more of the interview later tonight (the sneeringly dismissive stuff he was saying about the Sinclair guy and his motives prior to the part I transcribed is amazing!), but it's incredibly time-consuming and I have some real-life responsibilities as well. But I am, well, "very mad and jackballed up" about this trash, LOL!

"Where was this idijot when See BS had the dan blather memogate or the Bush is bringing back the draft?"

He was rubbing his hands together with glee at the thought of slinging mud on a sitting president.

I'm sure Tim Robbins will be giving his "Chill Wind" speech after hearing about this.

"A chill wind is blowing in this nation. A message is being sent through the
White House and its allies in talk radio and Clear Channel and
Cooperstown. If you oppose this administration, there can and will be
ramifications."

I'd like to think you're right. Unfortunately, I think 90% of this country is drugged by complacency...they don't understand what we have and so they don't notice it being taken away. They are frogs in a pot of slowly heating water...

i believe the democratic chad was speaking of the appeal to the fec about a violation of campaign finance reform when he said, "(sinclair) better hope we don't win..." when the hostess interrupted with her question about a veiled threat of witholding the fcc licenses...

that is how i heard it... but do not have a transcript...

the audience was appauled when he said airing farenheit 911 would be ok...

Sincerely can't interpret his statement as having anything to do with an administrative appeal. There was clearly, IMHO, real vituperation in his tone. There was a nastiness. There was the reference to Sinclair "regretting this." This was no mere prediction of bureaucratic proceedings. It was a threat, an ugly one, plain and simple.

Of course you're entitled to your opinion, but it's a lonely one. Everyone else I've noticed on this thread who saw the segment, as well as the two FNC Special Report panelists who opined, deemed it a threat.

I don't smell it that way.

The Chad made the tired democRAT threat of force against their opposition when they are in power. I don't expect them to ever be in a position of power again but I am planning for it and lurking under their skin waiting to strike.

Never again will these criminals get a fat chance to destroy America. Bank on it.
