Good question. Edwards spoke directly to Mary's own father. The VP had the opportunity to respond, and Cheney chose not to address the inappropriate comment in front of millions of people.
Kerry's remark to the President was like a gossiping old lady at a quilting bee.
Too bad he didn't take into account that half of evangelical Christian Americans are in church on Wednesday nights and didn't watch Kerry's performance. But then, being a good Catholic, and a smug, elitist SOB, he probably doesn't even know that. Not that it would make any difference anyway.
Not really. they will handle it just like the NOW hags dealth with Clinton's sexual exploits.....ignore it and vote for him.
BTT
LOL!! I love it!!
and when she's running for public office, it should be an issue. can i assume that you believe that bringing up Kerry's attempt at an annulment would be an appropriate thing to mention when he says he's a practicing Catholic? some of us think there are boundaries - apparently you don't
I say ditto to you! My feelings exactly
amen!
Not only was it a not-very-well disguised debate attack meant to go around the world - singling out a member of the opponent's family's sexuality - straight or gay - is so far out of bounds that it's beyond words. And then Cahill saying "she's fair game" tells it all. The DNC has no shame at all.
Why should the press be surprised at this low blow delivered by their golden boy Kerry? Don't they know what kind of a so-called man he is by now? Just when you think he can't go any lower, voila. Frenchie sets a new standard for mud slinging.
Admitted straight or gay - would you like your sexual preferences broadcast around the world for political purposes?
He didn't say NAACP, he said the Congressional Black Caucus. But Bush responded immediately by saying, "You're wrong, I did meet with the CBC." Indeed it was like weeks after inauguration.
Kerry's SS is saying that it's ok to talk about Mary Cheney's lesbianism because the VP brought it up during the VP debate.
My memory says that Edwards brought it up and not Dick Cheney.
Am I wrong?
Cheney's silence was his answer - he didn't want his daughter being used as a political tool. We can talk about Kerry's single daughter whoring around and use that in a health care/AIDS context (by the Democrats own debate standard).
This was a deliberate attack disguised as compassion.
He could easily have invoked James McGreevey's or Barney Frank's name - two out a public Democratic homosexuals, but he deliberately refrained from mentioning McGreevey at all - even when describing "gay man married to a supportive woman".
MENTIONING A DEM POL WHO PAYS HIS BOYFRIEND WITH PUBLIC NATIONAL SECURITY FUNDS? BAD; MENTIONING THE DAUGHTER OF A POLITICIAN FROM THE OTHER PARTY? GOOD.
Appears it said by Kerry at last night's debate. Can't tell you because I didn't watch. I get the facts right here.
You are correct, and brought it up in a context that was just as big a reach as the one last night. Cheney obviously shut off the subject as soon as he could without making a big issue of it. He looked as though he wanted to bite Edwards head off.
These Dem shills are going to make the whole matter even worse with their lying and slandering. There is no limit to how low these people will go.
Edwards also brought it up in his debate with Cheney himself. Democrats have no taste and no shame.
