Not to mention the massive ground game the Republicans have. I am hearing it is much stronger than the democrats.

I'll repeat Carl Cameron's interesting comment yesterday afternoon from the Kerry camp that they intended to "concentrate" on MI, PA, NJ, IA, WI and hoped to "pick off" OH or FL.
Huh? This sounds to me like the Kerry camp doesn't think NJ or MI or PA are safe. Edwards in MARYLAND today. Yeah, that's a real swing state. Or is it?

One visit doesn't repeat the CA mistake, plus he'll probably combine it with PA. Edwards in Maryland, Bush in NJ, it's our map right now folks, it's our map.

Wahoooo. Southern New Jersey is already Bush country. This will cinch it. New Jersey is a swing state. Who'd have thunk it. I'm off to go get tickets.

Excellent news! Cheney was there recently and he said NJ is in play. I am glad Bush is going there.

Spoke to a female lawyer the other day who is working as a poll watcher for the GOP on election day. She said she was very impressed with the ground game the GOP has in OH. She couldn't believe we were doing what we are doing: 10,000 calls in one day! Three million personal contacts during the 72-hour period.

They won't.
If he's there, then he really thinks he can win it.

I am glad Bush is going there. Definitely a good move. This past week I've seen lots of Bush yard signs going up.

I thought the "California mistake" was brilliant.
By announcing that we were within striking distance of CA, didn't Bush force Gore to spend the last day in CA instead of FL?

The other mistake that Rove has already admitted was taking the final weekend off. That won't be repeated again either.

MI and NJ should be "safe" Democrat states. The fact that Kerry is there says a lot.

Yes. Let's not repeat that same mistake. Dubya has to campaign hard through election day. I remember Gore campaigning Tuesday morning in New Mexico I believe on a radio station or television interview. I wonder if something like that gave him the 366 vote margin there. We will not lose for a lack of effort. I'll be sleepless doing my part.

I suspect the Bush campaign's polling numbers are telling them a slightly different story than the MSM's.
If Bush is going to Jersey, he believes he can win it.

Edwards in MARYLAND today. Yeah, that's a real swing state. Or is it? Several weeks ago, while making phone calls for the campaign, I chatted with a lady whose son was active in the Maryland GOP. She told me then to watch Maryland - it was closer than many thought.
But I'll really believe it when Bush goes somewhere in Maryland besides Andrews AFB. :-)

This could be a rope-a-dope...Knowing Jersey's liberal leanings...I really don't think Bush can win in the Garden State, but the internals suggest that it could be close, so close that it will force Kerry & Co. to spend not only time but money here. This is an "A" market (both Philly and NY)...and commands top dollars for TV rate card. Kerry would rather not have to spend time and $$$ in the NJ/Philly market.
But I think the Bush Team is making a mistake by not coming to the northern part of the state. Hudson, Bergen, Passaic, Union, Essex, & Morris counties were greatly impacted by 9/11. Many towns lost people...many cars left in the parking lots of commuter train stations for many days after 9/11. These counties also hold the majority of the states population. Going to the south Jersey only reinforces the base of support in the south. It does nothing for those of us in the north. IMHO.

I don't like it. I'd rather see him in OH or FL.
NJ would be nice, but we don't need it and there is no way this visit will force the RATs to spend money there.
