Rose, I could just feel a renewed energy and optimism throughout the entire Bush team today---listening to the people call Rush and Hannity, most of the women, including one Lesbian, who called in were OUTRAGED both at Kerry's Cheney remark and at his sterile response about TA-RAY-ZA.
Heads up amigo!
Cat, Jay Cost has a fantastic analysis of the flawed assessments of registered voters in OH, arguing that they missed big changes ("The Horserace," in the blogger column). His bottom line: Ohio, he says, is "Enemy Territory" for Kerry now, and GOP registration have been undercounted by a NET of 19,000 in OH. He argues that in almost all of the counties Gore won there has been a pop decrease, and in the counties Bush won there has been a pop increase. I see this every day: in Warren Co., they are building like crazy. Total Bush country.
I was hoping Rush would ask her who she was going to vote for, but I think he didn't want to hold her over during the commercial because she went on babbling about education in the schools or something like over gays!
I agree with that! NJ is in play however.

"Wahoooo. Southern New Jersey is already Bush country."
This is one of the political myths regarding New Jersey politics.
In fact, the strongest and largest Republican counties in New Jersey are in Central/Northern New Jersey, not the southern half of the state. In Election 2000, President Bush carried 5 central/northern counties (Somerset, Hunterdon, Morris, Warren, Sussex) but he only carried 2 southern counties (Ocean, Cape May).
A Star Ledger - Rutgers - Eagleton poll last week, surveyed the 2004 Presidential contest in New Jersey and broke down the results by region. Here are the results.....
Northern New Jersey - BUSH 47% - Kerry 41%
Central New Jersey - BUSH 42% - Kerry 46%
Southern New Jersey - BUSH 37% - Kerry 48%
I actually consider that good news, because if this is the least Bush supportive part of the state, Bush is going to dominate New Jersey. I went to my Republican Party HQ to try to get tickets. The place was a zoo. Phones ringing, people coming in and grabbing signs. Word isn't even out that Bush is coming on Monday, and the closest I got to tickets was a mile long waiting list.
Don't you think, just maybe, based on your observation and this thread, that word may have already leaked out? :-)
Very interesting. I've been one of the guilty ones believing the southern myth. Thanks for the education!
Marlton is about 15 miles due east of Philadelphia.
Don't underestimate the McGreevey factor. A lot of people I know are truly disgusted by the conduct of the Democratic leader of the state.
YA HOO!
I JUST got a call from the local GOP and I'm
GOING!
Picking up my ticket on Monday. The local office was not optimistic that I could get cleared etc. in time but I did!
I only wish I had given them my daughters information. I'd take her out of school for that.
I can't wait!!!!!!!
Someone will have to help me post my photos. I'll be taking photos.
Not so!
The Flemingiton office just called me - I'm GOING! I gave them my info. on Friday. They weren't optimistic but I lucked out!!1 Give it a try. Maybe you can get in yet.
"Later Monday, First Lady Laura Bush is scheduled to attend a fund-raiser at former Gov. Christie Whitman's Oldwick home."
I was going to go but i really wanted to meet George Bush.
That location is only twenty minutes from where i live.
Whaddaya know? Tell us girl.
"Whaddaya know? Tell us girl."
No one in that office - that is why I was so shocked!
