Latest numbers show Bush down by 5-6 in NJ. Methinks this is just gonna be as close as PA was in 2000. Still go blue but be much closer.

If New Jersey is in play, Kerry is toast.

Edwards in MARYLAND, Kerry in IOWA?????

Where exactly is Kerry supposed to get his electoral votes? Lessee, when did Bush last make a campaign stop in Georgia? Wyoming? Tennessee?

BTW, if you haven't all seen it go to the bloggers forum and look at Jay Cost's new "Horserace" column: He calls Ohio "enemy territory" for Kerry, now, based on an extensive analysis of OH voter registrations. (Hint: Bush is up 19,000 in new registrations, so add that to the 110,000 he won by in 2000).

I suspect the Bush campaign's polling numbers are telling them a slightly different story than the MSM's.

If Bush is going to Jersey, he believes he can win it.

This could be a rope-a-dope...Knowing Jersey's liberal leanings...I really don't think Bush can win in the Garden State, but the internals suggest that it could be close, so close that it will force Kerry & Co. to spend not only time but money here. This is an "A" market (both Philly and NY)...and commands top dollars for TV rate card. Kerry would rather not have to spend time and $$$ in the NJ/Philly market.

But I think the Bush Team is making a mistake by not coming to the northern part of the state. Hudson, Bergen, Passaic, Union, Essex, & Morris counties were greatly impacted by 9/11. Many towns lost people...many cars left in the parking lots of commuter train stations for many days after 9/11. These counties also hold the majority of the states population. Going to the south Jersey only reinforces the base of support in the south. It does nothing for those of us in the north. IMHO.

A caller to Rush last week brought up an interesting theory as to why NJ is in play (besides the 9/11 factor) - There are somehting like 14 pharmaceutical companies in NJ. Together they employ almost a million people. If those two Snake Oil Salesmen get elected and the govt starts importing drugs from Canada and Mexico, every employee of those pharma companies will feel it.

Interesting, huh? Spread the word... I am!!

I'm obviously voting for Bush anyway, but to think it will actually matter because of the apparent close race here makes me EXTREMELY excited! It'd be great if we won.

I've noticed alot more Bush/Cheney bumper stickers in just the last 2-3 weeks. Before that, it was 10 to 1 Kerry bumper stickers. I'm from the liberal North Jersey area too.

Anybody know how many electoral votes NJ has? It's a very densly populated state so I'm guessing it should be alot.

"Later Monday, First Lady Laura Bush is scheduled to attend a fund-raiser at former Gov. Christie Whitman's Oldwick home."

I was going to go but i really wanted to meet George Bush.

That location is only twenty minutes from where i live.
