Back to a time 35 years ago in a country racked with war to find out from villagers about one incident on a river that is "seared" into the memories like nothing else. For 35 years, they have waited in the hopes that an ABC news crew would come there and interview them. Of course, airing this segment leaves others little time to verify the accuracy of any report. Thirty-five years ago, I was twenty-seven and remember events, but not well enough to construct elaborate details about them. And I was not living in a country in the throes of war.
Am I being overly suspicious of ABC?

Nightline traveled to Vietnam and found a number of witnesses who have never been heard from before, and who have no particular ax to grind for or against Kerry.
Both ABC and the communist government of Viet Nam would like to see Hanoi John elected. This is hardly nonpartisan.

So, now we are to believe VC over our own. I think this type of thing is what the media was doing during the Viet Nam war and now they are at it again. It just makes me sick to think that our own media has sunk so low as to take the enemy's (past and present) words over our own brave heroes who have and are now fighting.

If there was "intense" small arms fire directed at the boats (which I assume were close in to shore), wouldn't there have been some evidence in the form of bullet holes etc. left? Wonder if any maintenance records exist?

I'm guessing this ABC birdbrain thinks we're going to buy anything ABC says after the Mark Halpern memo...chuckle.
Additionally, Halpern's dad is best buds with Soros...

Nightline traveled to Vietnam and found a number of witnesses who have never been heard from before, and who have no particular ax to grind for or against Kerry. Only one of them, in fact, even knew who Kerry is. The witnesses, all Vietnamese, are still living in the same villages where the fighting took place more than 35 years ago. A Nightline producer visited them and recorded their accounts of that day.
I ain't believing this horsecrap for one minute. Viet-f'in-nam had been at war for years and years and these villagers remember this one freakin' day? One "actually" also remembers Kerry? My BS detector is off the scale, gone - outta' sight!

Seems to go against both stories, but the Swifties more than Kerry. Just serves to muddy the water. Thanks ABC.

Is it just me, or does it seem odd to anyone else that ABC is going more in depth with coverage of Kerry's 4 months in VietNam than all of their coverage on the Iraq War!!! No one at ABC seems concerned to getting at the real truth of what's going on to support George Bush's claims!!
