I searched and found this:
BLACKBEARD: Ocracoke's Most Famous Visitor
Piracy was as much a state of mind as an occupation. Pirates built upon their reputations with actions and symbolic gestures. Flags were an important part of creating the total pirate image. Blackbeard's flag depicting a heart dripping blood while a skeleton held an hourglass and spear, was designed to strike fear in the hearts of his victims.
I love the outerbanks from Beaufort to Nags Head. Last week when I was at CALO I saw three separate remains of ship's timbers with what's left of rusted spikes sticking out. Probably date to the 1800's.
ARRRH!
I be announcing the great, grand news here at the office! Every man jack of 'em be talking like pirates this very moment! YARRRRRHHH!
YE TELL THOSE SCURVY DOGS THAT IT'S BACK TO WORK WITH THE LOT OF 'EM, OR I'LL HAVE 'EM KEYHAULED!

That's one of the reasons I love it too.
Hey, is that Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum open yet at Hatteras?
Re: Museum. Don't know about it.
Shoot. Okay.
That's the one the "Guardian of the Graveyard of the Atlantic" license plate is supposed to benefit.
I have a very low number of that plate; just happened to be at Hatteras and was one of the very first people to sign up for it.
Hopefully they will have more success in opening than the long promised "Civil Rights Museum" turned money pit in Greensboro.
Arrrgggh! 'tis that brigand Bush's doin', this be.
Just found their site. Museum is still under construction.

Yeah, the "Civil Rights Museum" was on the Raleigh news for some reason the other day.
Some kind of water leak (wall pipes or undground waterline) that damaged the interior was discovered last week. They are postponing the opening for a few months to clean up and correct the problem.
Arrr!
OWWWIE!
Gee... & I thought you'd say UNNNGGGGHH!
Well... I would've, but it didn't seem right to do so.
ARRRR...That reminds me. I'm going to Cap't. D for an giant Fish Sandwich. Bye. ARRRR.
Avast, me hearties! Tharrr be a lily-livered landlubber liberal lawyer and his ponderous wench lurkin' close to the Carolina Shoreline. A huckster and a chunkster
