ABORTION IS NOT A POLITCAL TOPIC, BUT THE POLITICIANS HAVE MADE IT SO. It is a philosophical issue that should be argued strictly between a mother and her doctor, her spouse, other non-political participant.

POLITICIANS ARE A SAD LOT. They do not know how to keep PERSONAL ISSUES out of politics. If their focus EVER GETS BACK TO RUNNING THIS COUNTRY, INSTEAD OF PERSONAL EMPOWERMENT, these issues will not be discussed in campaigns. They do not belong there.

I have to disagree and I have yet to understand this. I am a Catholic and was dating a Jewish girl for about two years. Her family was all democrats and the ONLY reason that they would vote for a democrat for president was because "if a republican gets elected, he'll try to overturn roe v. wade" That was their only arguement as to why to vote for the democrat.

My take on the issue is that roe v. wade will NEVER be overturned... it just won't happen. not that i wouldn't want it to be but i just don't think at this point it ever could be. If the only reason that most jewish folks (and I'm not stereotyping, it's just the way it is) vote democrat is the social issues, mainly abortion, why don't we as a party explain more that even though we may not agree with it roe v. wade won't be overturned? I don't get it, people are scared shitless that it will be changed and when we are really honest with ourselves we know it won't so why not say it?
