Yes, I have had run-ins with anti-Americanism. One particular evening, at an Annapolis-Sussex 'Sister City' event, a well-dressed English woman was regaling the dinner table with tales of how horrid the US of A was on her trip the previous year.
She had particular aversion to our service of tea: the disgusting, soggy tea bag.
My True Love informed her that we do unusual things with tea. We THROW IT IN HARBOURS.
End of conversation.
Your initial post came across as if US military forces were directly and officially involved in Europe before Pearl Harbour. The Royal Navy was still intact. Germany could not have pulled off the invasion of Britain without air supremacy. Goering failed to deliver and subsequently Operation Sealion could not be carried out. The English Channel was the saviour of Britain - without it we would have just been an statistic via Blitzkrieg.
