Of course, if John Kerry gets elected, he will no doubt throw US support to Chavez. After all, Jimmy Carter certified the referendum!

Just another sign that it will become increasing difficult to procure oil from 3rd world pest holes especially Islamic ones.

This is why I would be in favor of developing technology that would suck the oil out from under these countries (i.e. diagonal drilling). This would have the added benefit of having these countries collapse into the resulting sub-terranean abyss after all of the oil has been removed. I couldn't think of a better fate for Saudi Arabia. They might even run into their master down there.

PS: Just kidding. :O)

Is there some way we could slant drill Venezuelan oil from Florida?

I don't know, but this should certainly be checked into, IMO. Might run into that old meteor down there, though. Dang.

Unfortunately Chavez is in Russia buddying up to Putin so they can raise the price of oil to $100 per barrel and bankrup the USA.

The Reichstag fire is eerily reminescent of Nero burning down Rome and blaming it on the Christians.

Any Muslims around? Other than that, for the sake of argument, cool.

Odds are its arson by the anti-communist side.

Or Chavez set a little Reichstag Fire for himself.

"If you really want to read an economic forecast that will make you want to slit your wrists, try Richard Mayberry's Early Warning Report."

I did WOW. Richard Mayberry's Chaostan (registered trademark) is very aptly named.

Let's not go there.

Why not? Our biggest building, by volume, is the Boeing building in Everett, Washington.

Our Biggest building is devoted to a private business ;0)

I don't think they have much in the way of building codes in Venezuala.

So, no water tanks on top, coupled to a sprinkler system?
It would have been as a government project. The money in the budget for that likely found its way to the Cayman Islands.

A nitrogen based foam system could be placed in such semi-turd world structures for very little cost(High temp. teflon pipes instead of steel).
