Mom has a difficult time getting around as it is, so to answer the phone is not always easy for her. She has been plagued with recorded phone calls on a daily basis from the Kerry campaign, trying to frighten her about what will happen with her healthcare, etc. if Kerry is not elected. She said one of the recordings was from a woman claiming to be a nurse! I am assuming they are targeting Seniors, as I have not gotten these calls, nor have my siblings.
I find this repugnant.
Mom, still full of spit and vinegar told me she yells into the phone, "I'M VOTING FOR PRESIDENT BUSH!" She said, "I know it's a recording, but maybe someone is listening on the other end."
Just wanted to post this FYI about the strong arm tactics Kerry and Co. are using against our Seniors. Sickening!

Well, you see Lisa, you're in Ohio,
and Kerry needs Ohio at any cost,
even your mom's health.
Damn him and his damn lying campaign.

May God bless your mother and you.

She sounds like a very strong lady.

"She said one of the recordings was from a woman claiming to be a nurse"
A friend of mine and her brother, who was wearing a kerry/edwards hat, were visiting in the hospital earlier this week.
The nurse came into the room, saw the hat and asked "please tell me you are not going to vote for who is on your hat". He replied "yes" and the nurse proceeded to tell him that the vast majority of the medical industry is voting against Kerry/Edwards as they are the ones responsible the high medical rates, insurance, etc.
All that after my friend had been working him over on her own refuting everything pro-Kerry he had to say.

She sounds like a very strong lady. Thanks, that she is! She has survived, among other things, quadruple heart bypass surgery, and a bout with cancer of the mouth 3 years ago. And she lost her hubby, my dear daddy, in May..after 59 years of marriage.

And kudos to that nurse for speaking her mind.

Tell your Mom, "Don't get mad, get even." When those obnoxious liberals phone me, I just put the phone down and let their recording talk to the air. As long as they're talking, it's one less phone call their automated phone bank gets t to make to other people.

My mother is a huge lefty "independant". In 2000 the democrats kept calling her and leaving instructions on whom to vote for...drove her crazy so she voted Nader.
This election she has the same novel approach one of Rush's callers claimed.
She's excercising the punishment vote for George Bush. He got us into this mess and should be forced to clean it up. She actually likes Kerry and loves Teresa. My father and I are tiptoeing around this one..so as not to upset her twisted strategy.

Prayer ping. Please post your replies to LisaMalia
LisaMalia, I will be praying for your mom to be able to stay strong and not to be weakened by the enemy. It looks as though Kerry and his team are playing devil's advocate. Keep in mind that most democrats are younger...if they stress out the elderly, they may "get rid of" a large amount of Bush supporters. There should be a number included in the call that gives her the chance to opt out of the calls. Have her get hold of her local county clerk and ask if they know how to stop the calls.
Jet Jaguar, thank you for the ping
Blessings,
trussell
If you want on/off my prayer ping list, please let me know. All requests happily honored.

And it just goes to show you the amount of empathy the people at the Kerry campaign have for the people they claim to represent.

Frightening and sickening. All I can envision is your poor frail mom being hunted by "Lurch." Isn't there some law against being stalked by escapees from bad sci-fi movies?

I volunteer at the Bush-Cheney campaign here in GA. They were desperately looking for people to work the phones and go door to door.
I will not do neither. I stuff envelopes, put signs together or do any other kind of office work. I get so fed up with the phone calls around election day. Spamming people on the phone is no way to attract voters. I work at home and the calls come all day. Most are computer generated and hang up when you answer.
I also don't appreciate people coming to my door. I have signs in my yard and bumper stickers on my car I don't need some 15 year old coming to my door to tell me how to vote.

Isn't it too bad that we can't file with the DNC and tell them we do NOT want to be on their call list, as we can with other telemarketers................. then sue them if they do call!

Your mom would not have a difficult time getting around if "W" wasn't President. John Kerry will make your mom walk again with no problem and get her medicaid and a job.
