Fret not. I've had a few works in my day that bombed like Saddam in a spiderhole. Can't please everyone all the time and all that.
Linda's good people and she does good work. Let's cut her some slack, folks.
I love this picture of our President. His heart and soul just shines here. He is a wonderful man, of deep sensitivities and faith, and it shows. Thank you.

Where the original photo was taken doesn't matter. The illustration is ... is ... it's not up to the artist's standards, let's put it that way. Somebody said it looks like a plate from QVC and I have to agree. W looks like a wimp. I don't like it.
You don't need to get huffy, that was the purpose of my post, to find out the truth about it because it sounded not quite right.
Once I painted a great live oak with bluebonnets and hills, then messed it all up by trying to put too much in it and it turned a blueish grey.
This is a good likeness of the original.
Although the pic is full of meaning its not W's best pic imo.
We love you Linda!
I know. I'm a terrible person. Maybe if the tears were added to the graphic you'd know why he was making a 'doo doo' face.
Reminds me of the rapid aging/decomposition special effects from one of the Indian Jones movies...
Sorry, Linda. I don't know you, and I'm sure it's not pleasant to have such calous criticisms of your work. Artistically, It's very well done. But it looks like you've added 20 years to him. Makes him look feeble, and weak rather than portraying the emotion I think you were going for. I think that's what all of the negative comments are about.
Though I like the man, the prez, I have to agree with those who are wierded-out by this rendition. It adds fuel to the anti-christian Bush-haters.
A for effort, Incomplete for altering lapel pin.
yep, tough crowd here!
It looks like it was painted on velvet.
I think ya done good capturing the moment...
That's exactly my beef with it too... It makes him look artificially much older, and unhealthier. This reminds me of something you'd see on one of those fake velvet rugs or something....
I understand the joke you made in your caption, but I don't really find that photograph funny.
W and Yoda! Both very wise men! LOL!!!
I agree. Please see my apology above.
As I said earlier and I will clarify, Lyndon Johnson called this something like the ugliest thing he ever saw. This painting was by Peter Hurd of New Mexico.
OK, this is a conservative forum and one may get the proverbial catcalls for having LBJ posted here, but I'd definitely consider it a good portrait. And I use it as an example.
Make observations, I think, the Bush painting shown is alright. I might need to see more.
Gotcha. Thanks.
Thank you, Freeper Friend Linda, for taking the time and effort to do this lovely portrait of our President. And I love your caption, too! God Bless you for this thoughtful, inspiring work!
