Typical rhetoric from another Yankee hater. How can anyone overlook the success of the NY Yankees? Its reality. Just like the Raiders and the Cowboys. Year in and year out, the Yanks have been one of the very best teams in baseball.
>>>>But that's what you get when you spend $190 million on a bunch of all-stars who are far more interested in their own incomes, careers, and images, than they are in being part of a team.
That's silly. A-Rod and Sheffield came to the Yanks to win a championship. Both players are known for their unselfish desire to win!
By unselfish desire to win, do you mean knocking a ball out of a pitcher's hand (like a little blue-lipped b***h)?
No one is "overlooking the success of the Yankees", but pointing (yet AGAIN) to how successful they have been is no way to respond when someone points out (rightfully) that they CHOKED, bad.
A-Rod and Sheffield came to the Yankees to win a championship, and they're known to be unselfish team players? OK, I'll assume that's true. I'll tell you something though, if I was making $25 million a year whether my team even made it into the playoffs or not, I might have a little trouble getting motivated.
Like I said, money can buy you a bunch of all-stars, but it can't by you heart and the desire to win. If anything, that's what Boston showed themselves to possess, and in far greater measure than the vaunted Yanks.
Lastly, the whole world has had to watch Yankees fans spit all over Boston fans for a long, long time. It is high time that they got their comeuppance (is that even how you spell it?). There's nothing wrong with a little humility, and that is true no matter how good or how successful you are. And if there's one thing most Yankees fans lack (besides intelligence, proper grammar, and civility - OK, just having a little rhetorical fun there, don't get all bent), it's humility.
