I've always said those libertarians really know what they're doing...I did say that, I think?

I dunno. In 1990 or thereabouts, I reregistered Libertarian in California out of disgust for George I and his failure to read his own lips. It quickly came to my attention that the Libertarian party (at least in CA) was run by a bunch of moonbats who seemed mostly concerned with being able to puff their doobies free of government sanction.

I came home to the Republicans pretty quickly.

That said, Hospers sounds like his head is screwed on pretty well. His letter sounds like what I thought the Libertarian party would be like.

At one time I took a look at the Libertarian's. I didn't stay around to long. On an absolute Utopian view it looks pretty good, but overall there philosophy just won't fly. Most Libertarians, I believe, are frustrated 'Pubs. So, Welcome home to one and all.

same here,

But after listening to all of the local rhetoric, I got burned out. The ideas sound good on paper, but do not pass with people in general. I got tired of supporting something that no one took seriously (even LP members) and STILL having Slick Willie elected twice. Besides, the guy who was running for senate from New Mexico that year looked like grampa Munster. There were a few other reasons but that was a big one for me.

I will vote for LP when the S. Texas dems run unnopposed in the judgeships and I still read some of their stuff, but I am an "ex".
