Personally, I can't WAIT for this agony to be over

Same here. If I could eat popcorn, I'd be making a big batch of it for the ensuing legal shenanigans!

Seriously, I think Bush will win. What's stopping me from feeling too happy yet is how far Dems will drag us in a legal mire, contesting every undotted 'i' or uncrossed 't.'

I wonder if we will ever see the end of uncontested elections in this country? It makes me sick. One of the beauties of American democracy - the peaceful transition of power - has begun to look like a power grab in a 3rd world country, the only difference is we'll use lawyers instead of guns to intimidate the opposition.

I know, I know.

I just got off the phone with a campaign person from the Republican running for the open Congressional seat in my district. I can't make the rally tomorrow because of the distance, but I assured the young lady they had my support.

Oh, I can take FR or leave it, anytime. I feel it in my heart, so I know it must be true.

Just listening to Slick Willy on FoxNews...took a look at him, he's so thin it makes his nose look HUGE! Or, maybe that it's just growing again.

His voice was a little wavery at the end. Hmmmmmm....

The nose is what struck me immediately.

I have it on in the other room and only went in to see what he looked like..........I didn't pay much attention to what he was saying.

we wanted the ALCS to be over, too. but we had to sit through some of the longest baseball games in history, and seven of them at that.

I think I'll listen to something more soothing tonight, like a box of BBs in a Cuisinart set to frappe...

ROFLMAO!

It's a week out from Election Day. Do we YET know what Kerry's policy on Iraq would be? ...or for that matter, a whole host of issues that he's spoken on at length.

This is why WE might want to consider starting a Grass Roots petition to SHORTEN the length of time between nominations, campaigning and elections.

The times were set PREtelevision and internet and are TOO LONG considering "televison" and internet. We don't have our news being brought to us overland on the pony express. We can nearly instantaneously learn of the results of voting. There's no longer a lag time or a wait-while-the-hand-ballots-are-counted time. So why do we insist on the months and months of campaigning????????

The Conventions could be held in mid-late August and the campaigning prior to conventions could start in JULY or maybe mid-June and the actual campaigning of the nominees wouldn't begin until September 1.

THIS IS WHY WE'RE SO TIRED OF THE CAMPAIGN - it has run on 'forever' it seems. sKerry and Edwards have been AWOL from their jobs for -- 18 months????? THIS brings up another item. IT SHOULD BE MANDATORY THAT SOMEONE WHO IS RUNNING FOR A NATIONAL POLITICAL OFFICE FROM AN EXISTING POLITICAL POSITION RESIGN FROM THAT POSITION TO RUN IN THE NATIONAL ELECTION.

There are enough of us here on FR to start a letter/email campaign after the elections to bring this to the attention of political leaders and the public.

YES, WE'RE TIRED. The political process is toooooo long. Time for a paradigm shift.

Am I on or off target?
