Hanoi Approved of Role Played By Anti-War Vets
The New York Sun ^ | October 26, 2004 | Thomas Lipscomb

Posted on 10/26/2004 1:23:32 AM PDT by GAGOPSWEEPTOVICTORY

The communist regime in Hanoi monitored closely and looked favorably upon the activities of the Vietnam Veterans Against the War during the period Senator Kerry served most actively as the group's spokesman and a member of its executive committee, two captured Viet Cong documents suggest.

The documents - one dubbed a "circular" and the other a "directive" - were captured in 1971 and are part of a trove of material from the war currently stored at the Vietnam Archive at Texas Tech University at Lubbock. Originally organized by Douglas Pike, a major scholar who is now deceased, the archive contains more than 20 million documents. Many are available online at the Virtual Vietnam Archive and, as the election has heated up, have been the focus of a scramble for insights into Mr. Kerry's anti-war activities. The Circular and the Directive are listed as items numbered 2150901039b and 2150901041 respectively. Their authenticity was confirmed by Stephen Maxner, archivist at the Vietnam Archive.

The two documents provide a glimpse of the favorable way the Viet Cong viewed the activities in which Mr. Kerry was involved. They are from many documents of a kind that were ordinarily sent to a unit called the Captured Document Exploitation Center at the United States Military Assistance Command, Vietnam, which was headquartered in Saigon. Documents like these that were sent to the center were immediately translated into English and processed for battlefield intelligence for targeting or operations as required, or filed.

The Sun is picking up on the WND story of earlier today. We'll see if this story has any legs in the MSM media or if it's relegated to right-wing leading periodicals.

John Kerry a collaborator with the enemy during wartime?

Who could possibly imagine such a thing?

expect more lies on the front page not truth.

Sadly, I agree with you my FRiend. The MSM has ignored the Swift Vets, but embraced the likes of Kitty Kelly. This will get airtime on the conservative talk shows, the New York Post, and the Washington Times, but beyond that, the pro-Kerry MSM (with the exception of Fox News), will bury it.

What's a little treason amongst Democrats?

Mr. Kerry had already had, in June of 1970, a meeting in Paris with enemy diplomats,
So Kerry had met with the enemy before his Senate testimony. Wonder if they gave him some tips on what to say. Are we actually considering electing a traitor president?

Cincinatus' Wife did a google news search and every newspaper seems to be running with the story about Bush losing those weapons even though its been discredited.

Secretly meeting with the Communists multiple times, then implementing the enemy's strategies (using the families of

POWs) and championing their proposal for US surrender.

Kerry is either a fool or a traitor.

And today, this hasn't changed... the things that he says only encourages the enemy.

I like the understated-we're not raving right-wing lunatics---tone. Oh by the way, one of the cabdidates was a communist agent at the height of the cold war no less. Now to the weather......partly cloudy fol........

I'm with you. I deliberately held off this story just to get a little more info - which means I have more credibility than the NY Times does.

I want to see someone besides "us" run this story, and since it's appeared in print now, I think this will be the headline for tomorrow. This is the real story about John Kerry, and I hope we get a chance to post the docs in question...

Why am I not shocked? It's part anti-Bush bias and part laziness on the part of the editors of these newspapers.

The crAP and the Slimes wire service fed them with the story and they just ran with it. Somehow I doubt that there will be a similar number of retractions in these papers' Wednesday edition.

Its fairly obvious that ZarKerry is a traitor and yet the moniker never seems to stick to the man. Maybe this will finally get the job done. Lets hope Drudge keeps it up all week. Maybe he'll even have a nice big picture of ZarKerry hanging out with the communists.

Just a thought,On Fox and friends they always pose a question and ask for callers. If we all try to call in and no matter what the topic bring up this subject and asked why it is being withheld from the public. Why not try to call every show on television and radio that has call ins' and ask this question. If we all try we may succeed in bringing the truth out about Kerry!

Why am I not surprised? What will surprise me is if the MSM pays any attention to it. They should, no doubt....but I guess we shall see;/
